Barbee go and talk with them at the Air Base about <br />this waste of water. <br /> <br />[~1~ <br /> <br />Mr. Carson made a short report on development concerning Highway Right-of-Way. <br />He stated that the committee consisting of Mr. Paul Rogers, Mr. Ernest Morgan, and <br />Mr. C. V. Carson, met with Mr. Ed. Bluestein of the Texas Highway Department on Monday <br />but they didn't have any definite information, but would probably have some next week. <br /> <br />A short discussion was held on what to do with the money gotten from the Right-of- <br />Way Bonds. Mr. Allen made a motion to buy $325,000.00 of U. S. 'Ireasllry;,NiHetY"9neDay <br />Bills. Mr. Korff seconded the motion. A vote was taken with the following results: I <br />Alderman Hillburn Yes <br />Alderman Allen yes <br />Alderman Korff yes <br />Alderman Beecroft yes <br />Alderman Davis No <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee suggested that the General Fund be reimbursed for all moneys spent <br />on Highway appraisal work as well as pay Russ & Company for acting as fiscal agent <br />in selling the $350.000.00 bonds. <br /> <br />Mr. Beecroft made a motion that the General Fund be reimbursed for all expenses <br />paid out for Highway appraisal work as well as that paying Russ & Company for the <br />selling of the bonds. Alderman Allen seconded the motion. The ~otion was unanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br />It was decided that each Alderman make a list of any persons they thought might <br />be willing to work on the Equalization Board for this year and report at the next meeting. <br />Mr. Barbee was to contact the following men and see if they would be willing to be on <br />the Board: R. Dare Williams, Sam Bowers, C. C. Wade, and M. E. Schofield. <br /> <br />Next was the discussion whether to install water coin meters for the farmers that <br />now get free water. All were in agreement that it was a good policy to give the w~ter <br />to these farmers. <br /> <br />At this point Mr. Barbee presented a petition from residents of Hull & Camacho I <br />Streets asking that they pave the streets from Hull to Grove to Comacho; and Camacho <br />from McArthur to Patton. On brief discussion he was ,instructed to file same, advising <br />that petitioners only very limited work was being undertaken at this time. <br /> <br />There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 P.
