He stated that 50% ot <br />this valuation plus personal tax, would bring the City the required Tax Revenue, at <br />the present tax rate. '3 ,::1,10 <br /> <br />Discussion ensued, and the Council was of unanimous oplnlon, and so instructed <br />Mr. Barbee, that he should reduce the expenses of the Street Department and the <br />Police Department, and wherever also possible, in order that the estimated income <br />would be sure to meet the operating expense. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was then brought out that it would be a distinct advantage to the City if the <br />fiscal year, which now runs from April 1st of one year to March 31st of next, were <br />changed to run from October 1 of one year to September 30th of the next. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Hillburn that City Attorney Morgan be requested to <br />ascertain and advise the Council if it would be possible to change the City Fiscal <br />Year, to commence October 1st, and to end September 30th of the ensuing year. Mr. <br />f;!uz:ffB6conded the motion. A vote was taken which showed the motion was carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at ~:45 P.
