I <br />I <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />!I <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor, Pro Tem, announced that the ordinance had been <br />finally passed. <br /> <br />The ordinance is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING CALVIN M. ALLEN, TO EXECUTE AS MAYOR PRO TEM <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CITY OF SAN MARCOS FIRE <br />STATION AND EQUIPMENT WARRANTS, NUMBERS 43 TO 50, BOTH <br />INCLUSIVE, IN 'l'HE DENOMINATION OF $1,000 EACH, AGGREGATING <br />$8,000.00, AND SUCH FURTHER INSTRUMENTS, CERTIFICATES AND <br />STATEMENTS AS SHALL BE NECESSARY, CONVENIENT OR APPROpRIATE <br />TO REFLECT THE ENTIRE VALIDITY OF SAID WARRANTS ; AND DECLAR- <br />ING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos has here- <br />tofore on the "1 day of (L-~ , 1956, passed an <br /> I. <br />ordinance approving claim of Horace C. Howard, Contractor, in the <br /> <br />amount of $8,852.44, being said Contractor'a Estimate No.4 under <br />Contract with the City of San Marcos dated, January 31, 1956, for <br />the construction of fire stations in said City; approving the <br />assignment of such claim to the First National Bank, San Marcos, <br />Texas; and authorizing the execution and delivery by the Mayor, <br />City Secretary and City Treasurer to said First National Bank, as <br /> <br />assignee of such claim, of CITY OF SAN MARCOS FIRE STATION AND <br />EQUIPMENT WARRANTS, dated August 15, 1955, Numbers 43 to 50, <br />inclusive, in the denomination of $1,000.00 each, aggregating <br />$8,000.00, and further authorizing the execution by such officials <br />of such further instruments, certificates and statements as shall <br />be necessary, convenient or appropriate to reflect the entire <br />validity of said warrants; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />is now vacant due to theresignatfonof Frank E. Dietterich as <br />Mayor on the day of ~~ ' 1956; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable and to the best <br />interest of the City of San Marcos to authorize Calvin M. Allen, <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern of the City of San Marcos, Texas, to execute such <br />warrants and such further instruments, certificates and statements <br />as shall be necessary, convenient or appropriate to reflect the <br /> <br />entire validity of said warrants; <br />
