<br />. <br /> <br />~. <br />I <br /> <br />~,"." <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />-+. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />Cedar tree (now stump), 9 inches in diameter, marked <br />X, bears S. 36. 30' W. 31.5 feet and an original Live <br />Oak tree, 13 inches in diameter, marked X, bears N. <br />47. 00' W. l29.4 feet and a Live Oak tree, 18 inches <br />in diameter, marked X, bears N. 29. 3D' E. ll7.6 feet; <br /> <br />THENCE N. 43. 30' E. 29.14 feet to an iron pipe for <br />the center of Loop Street; <br /> <br />THENCE with the center of Loop Street, N. 86. 50' E. <br />100.45 feet to an iron pipe for corner; <br /> <br />THENCE S. 45. 55' E. 27.23 feet to an iron pipe at <br />the most Western corner of Lot 2 and the Northeast corner <br />of Lot 1 of the Blankenship and Carruthers Addition and <br />on the South side of Loop Street; <br /> <br />THENCE with the South line of Loop Street and the <br />North line of Lot l, S. 86. 50' W. 140.24 feet to the <br />place of beginning. <br /> <br />We so request because of the facts that the general public <br /> <br />has seldom made use of such portions of Loop Street, is making no <br />use whatsoever thereof at this time, and, we do not believe, will be <br />making use thereof in the future. Furthermore, the City of San <br />Marcos has never worked or maintained the above-described portions <br />of Loop Street; nevertheless, it very probably, under the law, TNould <br />have the responsibility of seeing to it that they are maintained in <br />good condition. Therefore, the abandoning, discontinuing and closing <br />of such portions of Loop Street will be of significant and permanent <br />benefit to the City of San Marcos through its release from such <br />responsibility. <br />We, J. Searcy Smith and Ross Arnold, being all of the owners <br />of lots within said addition which also abut upon the portions of <br />Loop Street above-described, do further respectfully petition your body <br />that it execute quitclaims, covering all of the interest of the City <br /> <br />of San Marcos in and to the portions of Loop Street above-described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />(a) A quitclaim to J.
