Furthermore, the City of San <br />Marcos has never worked or maintained the above-described portions <br />of Loop Street; nevertheless, it very probably, under the law, TNould <br />have the responsibility of seeing to it that they are maintained in <br />good condition. Therefore, the abandoning, discontinuing and closing <br />of such portions of Loop Street will be of significant and permanent <br />benefit to the City of San Marcos through its release from such <br />responsibility. <br />We, J. Searcy Smith and Ross Arnold, being all of the owners <br />of lots within said addition which also abut upon the portions of <br />Loop Street above-described, do further respectfully petition your body <br />that it execute quitclaims, covering all of the interest of the City <br /> <br />of San Marcos in and to the portions of Loop Street above-described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />(a) A quitclaim to J.
