~, ~L It was then brought to the attention of the Council that the Arson Reward Ordinance must be amended to change the reward from $100.00 to $200.00 because of the population increase. ~ z ~ tt l::I Alderman Steakley moved that the adoption of the following resolution be declared: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SAN MARCOS CITY ORDINANCE OF AUGUST 2, 1949 PROVIDING A REWARD FOR THE APPREHENSION OF ANY PERSON OR PERSONS FOUND GUILTY 01' ARSON; AND OFFERING THE RB1ARD. RESOLVED, that to comply with State fire laws and regulations, the Ordinance above named be, and it hereby is, amended to provide a reward I of TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) for the apprehension and conviction of a person or persons found guilty of arson, instead of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) , as provided by said Ordinance; but this RESOLUTION shall in no way otherwise amend or be construed to amend, the said Ordinance. Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote being taken resulted unanimously in favor of the motion; and the Resolution of Amendment was declared adopted. Alderman Beecroft next made a motion that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized and empowered to sign and execute a lease between the City of San Marcos and Wm. J. Graham & Son for use of the San Marcos Municipal Airport. Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. The lease follows these minutes and becomes a part hereof. It was mutually agreed that it would be a good idea to make water available east of the highway, to the airport area, before construction of the new expressway is started, for future use. Mr. Korff then made a motion to give permission to the Latin-Americans to have a parade and celebration on "Cinco-de-Mayo" which falls on Sunday this year. Mr. Hillburn seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. Appointment of four members to the Park Board was next on the agenda. Mr. I Hillburn made a motion to reappoint Charlie Bass, Frank Taylor, J. O. Paine, and appoint Mrs. J. C. Sullivan -- all to serve for a period of two years. Mr. Davis seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. Mr. Korff reported to the Council that Mr. Klossner said he would be glad to do the audit for the City and would come and see Mr. Barbee after the 15th of April and quote his prices for the audit. THere being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 4.00 P. M.
