<br />~, <br />~L <br /> <br />It was then brought to the attention of the Council that the Arson Reward <br />Ordinance must be amended to change the reward from $100.00 to $200.00 because <br />of the population increase. <br /> <br />~ <br />z <br />~ <br />tt <br />l::I <br /> <br />Alderman Steakley moved that the adoption of the following resolution be <br />declared: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SAN MARCOS CITY ORDINANCE OF AUGUST 2, 1949 <br />PROVIDING A REWARD FOR THE APPREHENSION OF ANY PERSON OR PERSONS FOUND GUILTY 01' <br />ARSON; AND OFFERING THE RB1ARD. <br /> <br />RESOLVED, that to comply with State fire laws and regulations, the <br />Ordinance above named be, and it hereby is, amended to provide a reward I <br />of TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) for the apprehension and conviction of a person <br />or persons found guilty of arson, instead of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) , <br />as provided by said Ordinance; but this RESOLUTION shall in no way otherwise <br />amend or be construed to amend, the said Ordinance. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote being taken resulted unanimously <br />in favor of the motion; and the Resolution of Amendment was declared adopted. <br /> <br />Alderman Beecroft next made a motion that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, <br />authorized and empowered to sign and execute a lease between the City of San <br />Marcos and Wm. J. Graham & Son for use of the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br />Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously <br />in favor of the motion. The lease follows these minutes and becomes a part hereof. <br /> <br />It was mutually agreed that it would be a good idea to make water available <br />east of the highway, to the airport area, before construction of the new expressway <br />is started, for future use. <br /> <br />Mr. Korff then made a motion to give permission to the Latin-Americans to <br />have a parade and celebration on "Cinco-de-Mayo" which falls on Sunday this year. <br />Mr. Hillburn seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously <br />in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />Appointment of four members to the Park Board was next on the agenda. Mr. I <br />Hillburn made a motion to reappoint Charlie Bass, Frank Taylor, J. O. Paine, <br />and appoint Mrs. J. C. Sullivan -- all to serve for a period of two years. Mr. <br />Davis seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor <br />of the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Korff reported to the Council that Mr. Klossner said he would be glad <br />to do the audit for the City and would come and see Mr. Barbee after the 15th of <br />April and quote his prices for the audit. <br /> <br />THere being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 4.00 <br />P.
