San marcos, t;exas ____._ Am::... -..5.J __ ____ ____ 195'1- Er.C.M.Allen San Marcos, Texas My Honorable Mayor and City Council: In the name of the Clubs and Societies that for a period of 14 years in which have been celebrated annual Fiestas and where night onto night over two-thousand people have gathered, without a single incident occuring, these organizations hove always vigilated to maintain order during thier celebrations and have co-operated with the Police Dept.by complying with thier dispositions. That is why we believe unjust that three or more persons that do not represent an organization in thier testimony try to prevent our Clubs and Socials to co-operate in bringing enter- tainment and reOiedtion to our colony. OUr organizations never have made individual profits from the results of these festivals or dances; such is dedicated to the benefit of the community and to help the needy. }ilsa, it may be recalled by the Eonorable i":ayor and the City Council thdt the Sociedad Cuauthemoc was incorporated under Texas state law, with seat in San Earcos, as a non-profit organ- ization. The operation dnd carrying-out of all festivities and concessions exclusively dedicate thier funds to the needy or for betterment of the Park. Being operated by a board and its directors, we have always vigilated to maintain the good name of the organization and thdt of the city of San l!'arcos, Texas. 0-e do all that is possible to help the progr'eSG of our growing city and we believe thet our Fiestas brinr1 econof<lic iJen.sfits to the populQ,tiQ2"l. 8 O'J:,~Y all dispositions of the city and of the county, and by complying dutifully to thier contributions and payments of Taxes. The per- sons in charge of carrying out these functions have done it on a non-payment basis.
