<br />~ ,""".. <br />~:D'a- <br />/G(') <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF DECEMBER 20. 1957 <br /> <br />On the 20th day of December, 1957, the Governing Body of the city <br />of San Marcos, Texas, met in adjourned session with Mayor C. M. Allen pre- <br />siding and the following present: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Alderman S. h. Beecroft <br />Alderman 1'1. M. Davis <br />Alderman B. D. Hillburn <br />Alderman Herman Korff <br />Alderman H. W. Steakley <br /> <br />Also present were: <br /> <br />B. R. Fuller, City Manager <br />carlyn Tatch, City Secretary <br />Group of citizens from the Lightfoot <br />Addition <br /> <br />Mayor Allen opened the meeting and advised those present that the <br />meeting had been called to hear a proposal from the rural water users in <br />the ,Lightfoot Addition who were effected by the increase in water charges <br />to consumers outside the city limits. <br /> <br />Dr, P. H. Norwood presented a printed bulletin entitled "San Marcos <br />Water Rates for [,ural Users" relative to water charges in San Marcos and <br />other cities. The Council considered the bulletin and discussed the contents <br />with members of the group. Mr. R. L. Bunting suggested that the Council con- <br />sider increasing the minimum charge and decreasing the charges in the excess <br />brackets afte.r the minimum, It was explained that the excess consumption <br />was causing additional load on the water plant. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Beecroft made a motion that the amendment to Section 4 of <br />an ordinance dated June 28, 1949, recorded in Volume 11, Page 182, in the <br />Minutes of the Governing Body, the charges for water consumption, adopted <br />December 19, 1957, be recinded. Alderman Steakley seconded the motion and <br />upon roll call the Ayes and Nayes were as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />Alderman S. R. Beecroft <br />Alderman W. M. Davis <br />Alderman B. D. Hillburn <br />Alderman Herman Korff <br />Alderman H. W. Steakley <br />None <br /> <br />NAYES: <br /> <br />Whereupon Mayor Allen declared the Amendment recinded. <br /> <br />Alderman Beecroft presented an Amendment to Section 4 of Ordinance <br />dated June 28, 1949, recorded in Volume 11, Page 182, in the Minutes of <br />the Governing Body, and moved its adoption, which was seconded by Alderman <br />Steakley.
