~ ,""".. ~:D'a- /G(') ADJOURNED MEETING OF DECEMBER 20. 1957 On the 20th day of December, 1957, the Governing Body of the city of San Marcos, Texas, met in adjourned session with Mayor C. M. Allen pre- siding and the following present: I Mayor C. M. Allen Alderman S. h. Beecroft Alderman 1'1. M. Davis Alderman B. D. Hillburn Alderman Herman Korff Alderman H. W. Steakley Also present were: B. R. Fuller, City Manager carlyn Tatch, City Secretary Group of citizens from the Lightfoot Addition Mayor Allen opened the meeting and advised those present that the meeting had been called to hear a proposal from the rural water users in the ,Lightfoot Addition who were effected by the increase in water charges to consumers outside the city limits. Dr, P. H. Norwood presented a printed bulletin entitled "San Marcos Water Rates for [,ural Users" relative to water charges in San Marcos and other cities. The Council considered the bulletin and discussed the contents with members of the group. Mr. R. L. Bunting suggested that the Council con- sider increasing the minimum charge and decreasing the charges in the excess brackets afte.r the minimum, It was explained that the excess consumption was causing additional load on the water plant. I Alderman Beecroft made a motion that the amendment to Section 4 of an ordinance dated June 28, 1949, recorded in Volume 11, Page 182, in the Minutes of the Governing Body, the charges for water consumption, adopted December 19, 1957, be recinded. Alderman Steakley seconded the motion and upon roll call the Ayes and Nayes were as follows: AYES: Alderman S. R. Beecroft Alderman W. M. Davis Alderman B. D. Hillburn Alderman Herman Korff Alderman H. W. Steakley None NAYES: Whereupon Mayor Allen declared the Amendment recinded. Alderman Beecroft presented an Amendment to Section 4 of Ordinance dated June 28, 1949, recorded in Volume 11, Page 182, in the Minutes of the Governing Body, and moved its adoption, which was seconded by Alderman Steakley. The Amendment is as follows: 'First 2,000 Gallons Next 3,000 Gallons Next 5,000 Gallons Next 40,000 Gallons Balance $2.25 (Minimum bill) .60 Per Thousand Gallons .50 Per Thousand Gallons .40 Per Thousand Gallons .30 Per Ihousa nd Gallons There being no further business the meeting adjourn7d at 10:30 P.
