~ / h;J.. CALLED MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 27. 1957 On this, the 27th day of December, 1957, at 10:00 o'clock A. M., the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos, Texas, met in a called meeting at the Ci ty Hall of San Marcos, Texas, with the following members present and participating: I Mayor C. M. Allen Alderman S. K. Beecroft Alderman W. M. Davis Alderman B. D. Hillburn Alderman Herman Korff Alderman H. W. Steakley Also present were: B. R. Fuller, City Manager Carlyn Tatch, City Secretary Wal ter Buckner Bob Van Gundy A quorum being present the meeting was called to order by the Mayor and the following transpired: The regular order of business was dispensed with to accept pre- sentation of two petitions for incorporation of two additions. The first petition for incorporation was presented by Mr. Walter Buckner, representing the Cedar Plateau Addition, which had been properly executed as per requirements, contained the signatures of a majority of the inhabitants of this addition and containing the following addendum, I That a water main of not less than six (6) inches in diameter be laid 50 as to serve the territory incorporated with water; That fire plugs be installed on this water main so as to give fire protection to the residences now built in the area; th<J.t a fire plug connect- ion be available within 500 feet of each structure now bull t; That the city open up within a reasonable time such streets as are shown dedicated as streets, and that the usual program of street maintenance be applied; That the area be furnished sewerage service as the area shall produce taxes necessary to finance the construction of sewerage facilities; That all other city functions such as garbage pick- up, police service, street services, including street lights, be instituted at the earliest moment. I After examination of the petition, motion was made by Alderman Davis and seconded by Alderman Hillburn to accept this petition for incorporation and upon presentation of a duly enacted ordinance, this addition become a part or incorporated city limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, receiving a unanimous vote of quorum of Council members present. Mr. Bob Van Gundy, representing Park Addition, presented the second petition for incorporation to the Council at this time. The Mayor and Council found same properly executed and having signatures of the majority of the inhabitants of the Park Addition, at which time motion was made by Alderman Beecroft and seconded by Alderman Steakley for acceptance of this petition for incorporation, to be held until such time that duly enacted ordinance for incorporation, properly executed, at which time it would become a part of the incorporated city limits of the City of San Marcos.
