<br />~ <br />/ h;J.. <br /> <br />CALLED MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 27. 1957 <br /> <br />On this, the 27th day of December, 1957, at 10:00 o'clock A. M., <br />the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos, Texas, met in a called <br />meeting at the Ci ty Hall of San Marcos, Texas, with the following members <br />present and participating: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Alderman S. K. Beecroft <br />Alderman W. M. Davis <br />Alderman B. D. Hillburn <br />Alderman Herman Korff <br />Alderman H. W. Steakley <br /> <br />Also present were: <br /> <br />B. R. Fuller, City Manager <br />Carlyn Tatch, City Secretary <br />Wal ter Buckner <br />Bob Van Gundy <br /> <br />A quorum being present the meeting was called to order by the <br />Mayor and the following transpired: <br /> <br />The regular order of business was dispensed with to accept pre- <br />sentation of two petitions for incorporation of two additions. <br /> <br />The first petition for incorporation was presented by Mr. Walter <br />Buckner, representing the Cedar Plateau Addition, which had been properly <br />executed as per requirements, contained the signatures of a majority of <br />the inhabitants of this addition and containing the following addendum, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />That a water main of not less than six (6) inches <br />in diameter be laid 50 as to serve the territory <br />incorporated with water; <br /> <br />That fire plugs be installed on this water main <br />so as to give fire protection to the residences <br />now built in the area; th<J.t a fire plug connect- <br />ion be available within 500 feet of each structure <br />now bull t; <br /> <br />That the city open up within a reasonable time such <br />streets as are shown dedicated as streets, and that <br />the usual program of street maintenance be applied; <br /> <br />That the area be furnished sewerage service as the <br />area shall produce taxes necessary to finance the <br />construction of sewerage facilities; <br /> <br />That all other city functions such as garbage pick- <br />up, police service, street services, including <br />street lights, be instituted at the earliest moment. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />After examination of the petition, motion was made by Alderman <br />Davis and seconded by Alderman Hillburn to accept this petition for <br />incorporation and upon presentation of a duly enacted ordinance, this <br />addition become a part or incorporated city limits of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, receiving a unanimous vote of quorum of Council members <br />present. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Van Gundy, representing Park Addition, presented the <br />second petition for incorporation to the Council at this time. The Mayor <br />and Council found same properly executed and having signatures of the <br />majority of the inhabitants of the Park Addition, at which time motion <br />was made by Alderman Beecroft and seconded by Alderman Steakley for <br />acceptance of this petition for incorporation, to be held until such <br />time that duly enacted ordinance for incorporation, properly executed, <br />at which time it would become a part of the incorporated city limits of <br />the City of San Marcos.
