San Antonio Street, nas requested that <br />the Council considel' iaprovements to the Cemetery in the nature of street <br />surfacing, and regulatory signs, It was the decision of the Council to <br />inform Mrs. Craddock to contact the ce..tery Association .nd have them <br />submit a request to the Council for any improv...nts that they del. necessary, <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that Mr. Bill Gulledge had contacted him <br />and suggeated installing parking ..ters in from of his lot. which is across <br />the street from 01' Bossy, the 200 block of W. San Antonio Str..t. It.as <br />the suggestion of the city ManageI' to approve the install.tion of four (4) <br />or five (5) meters at this locatIon. which received a unanimous vote of <br />the quorum present. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Council had prevIously tentatively approved a planning study <br />for the City with the study to include an aerial survey and map of the City <br />and environs. The City Manager stated that after study and consultation <br />with State agencies, It h.s been determined that only a small portion of <br />the cost of an aerial map will be borne by the State or Federal Governments, <br />therefore, the City Manager requested peradssion to take bids on our ael'ial <br />map requirelll8nts, and that funds to pay for the service would be included <br />in the 1%6-59 Budget. The estimated' cost being $l,~,OO. Unanimous <br />approval of this request was received. <br /> <br />Mr. GIbson, of the Brown Schools. has contacted the Mayor Pro-Tempore <br />and the City Manager relative to the installation of the utilitias and a <br />street to the new school area. The City had considered building a street <br />to the school frOtll the Old Post Road beside the golf course. Mr. Gibson <br />advised that the architect reports that the building area will require an <br />additional 200 feet Which will be outside the city limits and to reach the <br />area. it would l'equire about SOO' of 6" waterline .nd 300' of 6" sewer line. <br />The City Manager suggested to the Council that they proceed with their plans <br />to construct the l'oad and to share the cost of the utilities on the basis of <br />the amount of the construction Which is within the city limits. After some <br />discussion, it was the unanimous decision of the COuncil to delay a final <br />approval of this l'equest until such t~ as final decision is ~de by the <br />Brown Schools as to the exact location of the new buildings. at which time <br />they should submit a plan of same to the council. <br /> <br />The City Manager informed the Council that the State Highway Depart- <br />ment has sent down a uintenance agre81lll!nt on Hopkins Street frOlll Moore <br />Street (FM 12) to the Southeast city lilllit line and it was the unanillOus <br />decision of the COuncil to accept this maintenance agre...nt with the State <br />Highway Departlllent. It was the feeling of the Council that this might enable <br />the City in getting a road to canyon Dam. Motion was made, at this ti.., <br />bY Alderman Beecroft and seconded by Aldarman Davis to move the water lines <br />on the Old Hunter Road and received a unanimous vote of quoZWl present. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Th. City Manager requested that he be authorized to advertise for <br />bids, for the accounting and booltkellping machine, payment of same to be in- <br />cluded in the 1%8-~9 Budget. which received the unanilllOus appl'oval of tha <br />Council, <br /> <br />The City Manager reported on a conference with thll City Attorney <br />regarding Lots 12 and 13, Block 2, J. S. Travis Addition. These lots are <br />situated between Guadalupe Street and Post Office Alley and had been l'ecOhD- <br />ended as a possible site for the location of a shop or storage yard for the <br />City's use. The Federal Land Bank holds a mortgage on this property, The <br />City Attorney reports that there 1$ a question as to the exact oWner of the <br />property. it being cOlDlnity property between the recorded owner, Teodore <br />Munoz and the spouse to tlhom Munoz 1I8s married at the tilllll of acquisition. <br />It was the City Attorney's opinion. and in which the City ManageI' concurred, I <br />that the City should pl'oceed and file a tax suit in connection with this <br />property. The action taken by the City Attorney and City Manager received <br />tha approval of the COuncil, <br /> <br />The City Manager informed the Council that a letter had been re- <br />ceived from the officers of the CuauhtelllOc Perk requesting certain asslst- <br />ance in A1eeting the requir_nts which will be imposed by the City befol'e <br />the park can be used this next season, briefly as follows. <br /> <br />1. Install four (4) street lights around the park area. <br />2. Gl'avel the streets around the area to facili t.te puking <br />and traffic movement. <br />3.
