<br />~; <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF APRIL 2, 1958 <br /> <br />COl <br /> <br />On this, the 2nd day of April, 1958, at 2:00 o'clock P.M., the <br />Governing Body of the City of San Marcos, Texas, met in a special session <br />at the City Hall of San Marcos, Texas, with the following members present <br />participating: <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I I <br /> <br />Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Alderman S. R. Beecroft <br />Alderman W. M. Davis <br />Alderman B. D. Hillburn <br />Alderman Herman Korff <br />Alderman H. W. Steakley <br /> <br />Also present were, <br /> <br />B. R. Fuller, City Manager <br />Carlyn Tatch, City Secretary <br />Walter Buckner, San Marcos Record <br /> <br />Mayor C. M. Allen stated the meeting was called for the canvassing <br />of ballots from the four (4) Precincts of the City Election held on the 1st <br />day of April, 1958. The City Secretary presented the Mayor with the envelope <br />designated "To The Mayor" containing the election returns from all four precincts, <br />votes tallied as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Precinct No. 10, Citv Library: <br />Herman Korff 16 Votes <br />B. D. Hillburn 16 Votes <br />W. M. Davis 16 Votes <br />Precinct No. 11. H. U. Miles Co. : <br />W. M. Davi s 13 Votes <br />B. D. Hillburn 18 Votes <br />Herman Korff 18 Votes <br /> <br />Precinct No. 12, Countv Court House: <br /> <br />IV. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hi llburn <br />Herman Korff <br /> <br />8 Votes <br />8 Votes <br />8 Votes <br /> <br />Precinct No. 13. City Hall: <br /> <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Davis <br />Herman Korff <br />Done Enni s <br />Mil ton Williams <br /> <br />64 Votes <br />63 Votes <br />62 Votes <br />1 Vote <br />1 Vote <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Upon final tallying of all votes cast in the boxes in all four (4) <br />precincts as being a majority of the votes cast, the Mayor pronounced Aldermen <br />Davis, Hillburn and Korff re-elected for a two (2) year term expiring March 31, <br />1960. At this time the Mayor called on the City Secretary to administer the <br />"Oath of Office" to W. M. Davis, B. D. Hillburn and Herman Korff. <br /> <br />The next item for consideration was the election of a Mayor-Pro- <br />Tempore. Upon motion of Alderman Hillburn, seconded by Alderman Davis, <br />Mr. S. R. Beecroft was unanimously elected by acclamation to serve as Mayor <br />Pro-Tern until March 31, 1959, or until his successor shall have duly qualified. <br />
