<br />-~ <br />1,< 022 <br /> <br />Municipal Contribution Rate cannot exceed five and one-half percent (5~~) <br />and if the established rate would be 5% of earnings, the Citys' Municipal <br />Contribution Rate cannot exceed 7~. Upon effective date of participation <br />in TMRS, credit is given for all previous service rendered by each member <br />.and monetary credit would be dependent upon the employee's prior service in <br />years and months and upon his Average Prior Service Salary, computation of <br />the amount in dollars-and-cents, being identified as Prior Service Credit. <br />The member city - not the employee member - pays for all Prior Service Credit. <br /> <br />o <br />o <br />e..; <br />~ <br />t:~ <br /> <br />It was the unanimous decision of the Council that they too felt that <br />it would be an advantageous thing for the City to participate in such a program <br />and asked that Mr. Gorham meet with the Department Heads and answer any questions <br />they might have. A survey would be made to determine how many of the employees <br />would be interested in such a retirement plan - at which time a final decision <br />would be given to Mr. Gorham. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />At this time the Mayor and City Manager requested that the City Secretary <br />and Mr. Gorham to meet with the Department Heads for a discussion of this matter. <br />At 2:30 P.M. the following Department Heads met with Mr. Gorham and the City <br />Secretary: <br /> <br />Mr. Hoy Lane, Sanitation Department <br />Mr. James Burwell, Health Department <br />Mr. Jack Major, City Inspector <br />Chief Wm. Allbright, Chief of Police <br />Mr. Asa Dees, Street Department <br />Mr. Willie Posey, Water Department <br />Mr. Carl Wilson, Sewer Department <br />Mrs. Judy Brackett, utilities Office <br /> <br />It was later reported to the Council that the employees favored partici- <br />pating in the System and that they requested the Council to consider a deposit <br />rate of FIVE PERCENT (5%) based on an annual salary of FOUR THOUSAND TWO HU~0RED <br />DOLLARS ($4,200.00). <br /> <br />Mr. Ross Terry and Mr. Jack McCreary, Delinquent Tax Attornies, were <br />introduced to the City Council by the City Manager to discuss the collection I <br />of tax receivables, now delinquent and owing the City. Mr. Terry went into <br />the type of service which he and his associate were able to give the City in <br />the matter of the collection of delinquent real and personal property taxes <br />due the City. The provisions of a contract were explained in a general way. <br />After a full discussion, it was the decision of the Council that Mr. Terry <br />prepare a contract along the general lines discussed and to present it to the <br />City Manager for review and presentation to the Council. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the Mayor at 4.30 P.M. declared the <br />meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />(> <br /> <br /> <br />Alderman <br /> <br />:2 ,/..'.... ~,,)/;~) /f t~ ~~,- ~i- V~_? <br />Alderman W.
