Turner <br />and himself. In the conference, the rough d2'aft of the Engineers t report <br />on sewage plant improvements'for San Marcos was examined and discussed. <br />The City Manager felt 'that a favorable reaction from the state and Federal <br />had been obtained. <br /> <br />~71i <br />B~ <br /> <br />,-."".-.rl <br />'-""- <br />I::~ <br /> <br />The City Manager presented to the council a breakdown on the cost <br />of applying a hot-mix hot-lay type of asphaltic surfacing, employing a <br />finishing machine. Alderman Steakley 'reported on an inspection trip which <br />he and t;1e City Manager had taken to San Antonio to investigate a used <br />Barber-Greene Finishing Machine. Alderman Steakley suggested that the City <br />rent this machine for one month ($1,460.00 per month) with the option of I <br />purchasing the machine, if satisfactory, and the full rent applying on the <br />purchase price. <br /> <br />Alderman Davis made a motion that the City rent the Barber-Greene <br />Finishing iAachine, Serial #879A-155, for a period or one month (rent to <br />apply) and to determine at the end of the trial period as to the advisabili- <br />ty or the purchase. This motion was seconded by Alderman Steakley and upon <br />roll call passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager informed the Council that the Allen Motor Co. <br />could not ;llake delivery of the motor vehicle awarded without painting the <br />car. It was the decision of the Council that the Allen Motor Con~any be <br />allowed to repaint the vehicle in o;-der to meet the Specifications; the <br />paint job to be completely satisfactory to the Council for the life of <br />the vehicle. <br /> <br />The Council, on motion, adjourned at 4:45 P.M. <br /> <br />') fJ <br />I \ l,.. <br />Mayor Pro-Tern S.
