Gonzales: At its meeting of April 9, 1981, the Greater San Marcos Council of Neighborhood Associations voted for the following priorities in oeder of their importance: 1. To encourage the city to enforce existing ordinances. To this end, we recommend and support the employment of a person(s) to investigate violations of ordi- nances and the addition of personnel to the Depart- ment of Public Safety. 2. To encourage the city to protect the San Marcos River, the acquifer and other natural resources. 3. To encourage the development and active maintenance of the San Marcos Master Plan. 4. To encourage the city agencies to utilize Southwest Texas State University resources for training, staff development and research. 5. To ask the City Council to divide the Planning and Zoning Commission into two separate bodies, one for planning and one for zoning. Because we recognize that the City Council bears ultimate respon- sibility for enacting these kinds of changes, we request to be placed on the City Council agenda of April 27, 1981 so that we mi3ht present our recommendations.
