<br />41i. <br /> <br />171 <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING HEW ON OCTOBER 31. 1958 <br /> <br />On the 31st day of October, 1958, the Governing Body of the City <br />of San Marcos met in Adjourned Session, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding: <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br /> <br />Mayor <br />Aldermen <br /> <br />C. M. Allen <br />S. R. Beecroft <br />i1. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hillburn <br />Herman Korff <br />H. W. Steakley <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City Manager B. R. Fuller <br />City Secretary Carlyn Tatch <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Allen who explained the <br />meeting was an adjourned session of a Special Meeting of October 28th. <br /> <br />The Mayor read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce relative to <br />the relocation of Ranch Road 12. The Chamber Board of Directors recommended <br />and suggested the route be "from Highway 81 at the Circle up Guadalupe to <br />Hopkins, out West Hopkins to Bishop, out Bishop to Prospect, thence out Feldmont <br />to countY_~_~~,2'" thencep~t Coul>lty Road to Ranch Road "12"." <br />'\.-'.... I <br />it WaS the unanimous decision of the Council that the recommenda- <br />tions be forwarded to the District Engineer of the Texas Highway Department. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Preliminary Final Plans and Specifications for Lift Station <br />Improvements, which Mr. DiCKson had forwarded to the City Manager, were examined. <br />After approval of minor corrections, suggested by the City Manager, Alderman <br />Beecroft made a motion, seconded by Alderman Davis, that the Plans and Specifica- <br />tions, as corrected, be forwarded to the State Health Department and the U.S. <br />Public Health Service for their approval, and that the date and time for bid <br />opening be set at 3:00 o'clock P.M., CST, December 2, 1958. Upon roll call the <br />Ayes and Nayes were: <br /> <br />AYES: S. R. Beecroft <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hillburn <br />Herman Korff <br />H. W. Steakley <br /> <br />NAYES: None <br /> <br />A request from Mr. John Stokes to bring Oak Heights into the City <br />Limits was discussed. The Council was receptive to a suggested plan of sharing <br />the expense of improvements on the Citys' established policy basis, provided the <br />area could be brought in on or before December 31, 1958. The services of the <br />City Attorney in drafting proper petitions, etc., were offered Mr. Stokesand. <br />the CHy Manager was authorized to co-operate in accordance with establishei:( <br />policy. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Beecroft made a motion, seconded by Alderman Davis, and <br />carried, that the City Manager attend, if pOSSible, a conference on Planning <br />and Design of Streets and Highways in Cities to be held at A & M College on <br />November 19-20; City to pay expenses. j <br /> <br />The Council discussed the need for acqUIrIng the necessary right- <br />of-way and land for lines and site for the new Lift Station. The City Manager <br />was authorized to contact Mr. Cape, Mr. Bingham and Mr. DeViney to acquire the <br />area" <br /> <br />The regular monthly meeting of the City Council would be on <br />TueSday, November 11th. As this is a hOliday, it was ordered that the regular <br />monthly meeting be held on Wednesday November 12, 1958, at 2:00 O'Clock P.M. <br />The City Secretary was instructed to notify the San Marcos Record and Radio <br />Station KCNY of the change in date. <br /> <br />The Council, on motion of Alderman Hillburn, seconded by Alderman <br />Davis, adjourned at 3:10 P.M. <br />
