41i. 171 ADJOURNED MEETING HEW ON OCTOBER 31. 1958 On the 31st day of October, 1958, the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos met in Adjourned Session, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding: The following members were present: Mayor Aldermen C. M. Allen S. R. Beecroft i1. M. Davis B. D. Hillburn Herman Korff H. W. Steakley I City Manager B. R. Fuller City Secretary Carlyn Tatch The meeting was called to order by Mayor Allen who explained the meeting was an adjourned session of a Special Meeting of October 28th. The Mayor read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce relative to the relocation of Ranch Road 12. The Chamber Board of Directors recommended and suggested the route be "from Highway 81 at the Circle up Guadalupe to Hopkins, out West Hopkins to Bishop, out Bishop to Prospect, thence out Feldmont to countY_~_~~,2'" thencep~t Coul>lty Road to Ranch Road "12"." '\.-'.... I it WaS the unanimous decision of the Council that the recommenda- tions be forwarded to the District Engineer of the Texas Highway Department. I The Preliminary Final Plans and Specifications for Lift Station Improvements, which Mr. DiCKson had forwarded to the City Manager, were examined. After approval of minor corrections, suggested by the City Manager, Alderman Beecroft made a motion, seconded by Alderman Davis, that the Plans and Specifica- tions, as corrected, be forwarded to the State Health Department and the U.S. Public Health Service for their approval, and that the date and time for bid opening be set at 3:00 o'clock P.M., CST, December 2, 1958. Upon roll call the Ayes and Nayes were: AYES: S. R. Beecroft W. M. Davis B. D. Hillburn Herman Korff H. W. Steakley NAYES: None A request from Mr. John Stokes to bring Oak Heights into the City Limits was discussed. The Council was receptive to a suggested plan of sharing the expense of improvements on the Citys' established policy basis, provided the area could be brought in on or before December 31, 1958. The services of the City Attorney in drafting proper petitions, etc., were offered Mr. Stokesand. the CHy Manager was authorized to co-operate in accordance with establishei:( policy. I Alderman Beecroft made a motion, seconded by Alderman Davis, and carried, that the City Manager attend, if pOSSible, a conference on Planning and Design of Streets and Highways in Cities to be held at A & M College on November 19-20; City to pay expenses. j The Council discussed the need for acqUIrIng the necessary right- of-way and land for lines and site for the new Lift Station. The City Manager was authorized to contact Mr. Cape, Mr. Bingham and Mr. DeViney to acquire the area" The regular monthly meeting of the City Council would be on TueSday, November 11th. As this is a hOliday, it was ordered that the regular monthly meeting be held on Wednesday November 12, 1958, at 2:00 O'Clock P.M. The City Secretary was instructed to notify the San Marcos Record and Radio Station KCNY of the change in date. The Council, on motion of Alderman Hillburn, seconded by Alderman Davis, adjourned at 3:10 P.M.
