HIGHWAY 81) LYING WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS THROlKJH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN MAXIMUM SPEEDS FOR <br /> <br />PARTICULAR SECTIONS OF SAID HIGHWAY; DEFINING WHAT ACTS WILL BE UNLAWFUL AND <br /> <br />FIXING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND, REPEAL- <br /> <br />I It-iG ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLlITIONS, AND PARTS THEREOF, IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. This ordinance is and shall be deemed an exercise of the <br /> <br />police power of the State of Texas, and of the City of San Marcos, for the public <br /> <br />safety, comfort, convenience and protection of the City and citizens of said City, <br /> <br />and all of the provisions herein shall he construed for the accomplishment of <br /> <br />that purpose. <br /> <br />Section 2. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person in charge Dr <br /> <br />control of Or operating any vehicle to propel or run Dr drive or operate such <br /> <br />vehicle on or upon certain sections of Interstate Highway 35 (U. S. Highway 81) <br /> <br />and within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, at a greater rate <br /> <br />of speed than is hereinafter set out in connection with such sections of said <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />highway: <br /> <br />(a) Frontage or Se,vice Roads: <br /> <br /> <br />For SouthBound\Traffic - <br /> <br /> <br />From Station 915/00 ( a point 22 feet northerly of the north line <br /> <br /> <br />extended of Broadway Stree]) to San Marcos South City Limits a distance of <br /> <br /> <br />.587 mile--a maximum speed of thirty-five (35) miles per hour. <br /> <br /> <br />For North Bound Traffic - <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />From the San Marcos South City Limits to Station 9651 00 (a point <br /> <br />22 feet northerly of the north line extended of Broadway Street) a distance of <br /> <br />.587 mile--a maximum speed of thirty-five (35) miles per hour. <br /> <br />(b) Through-way Lanes: <br /> <br />South Bound Traffic - <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(1) From Station 1623/46.5 (a point 1356 feet northerly from the <br />north line extended of Ebony Street) to Station 949175 (a point 301 feet <br /> <br />northerly from the north line extended of Ebony Street) a distance of .2 <br /> <br />mile--a maximum speed of fort, (40) miles per hour. <br /> <br />~ <br />
