<br />W8 <br /> <br />ORDER AND NOTICE OF CITY ELECTION <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />ELECTION ORDER <br /> <br />I, C. M. Allen, Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, by <br /> <br />virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby order that an <br /> <br />election be held in the City of San Marcos, Texas, on April 7, 1959, <br /> <br />being the first Tuesday thereof, for the following purposes: <br /> <br />(1) For the purpose of electing the following officers of <br /> <br />said city: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Alderman <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman <br /> <br />(2) For the purpose of voting on the following two proposi- <br /> <br />tions: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION ONE: The terms of office of the officers of <br /> <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, elected (or appointed) on April 7, <br /> <br />1959, and thereafter, shall continue to be two years, or until <br /> <br />their successors have been duly qualified. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION TWO: The term of office of all officers of the <br /> <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, elected (or appointed) on April 7, <br /> <br />1959, and thereafter, shall be for four years,or until their successors <br /> <br />have been duly qualified, and after April 7, 1959, any vacancy or <br /> <br />vacancies occurring on the governing body of the City of San Marcos, <br /> <br />Texas, shall be filled by a majority vote of the qualified voters <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />at an election called for such purpose within 120 days after such <br /> <br />vacancy or vacancies occur. <br /> <br />(Vote for only one of the above two propositions by placing a check <br />mark or an X in front of the proposition voted for, or by deleting <br />and striking out the proposition voted against.) <br />
