The ordinance was read in full and its <br />adoption was seconded by Alderman Beecroft. The ayes and nayes were as followst <br /> <br />Ayes 1 Beecroft <br />Davis <br />Hillburn <br />Korff <br />Tuttle <br />Nayest None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Whereupon Mayor Allen declared the ordinance passed, approved, and adopted. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE APpOINTING THE RECORDER OF THE <br />CORPORATION COURT, SETTn~ THE TERM OF OFFICE AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION" <br />was introduced by Alderman Hillburn who moved its adoption. The ordinance <br />was read in full and seconded by Alderman Tuttle. The ayes and nayes were <br />as follows I <br /> <br />ilyest Beecroft <br />Davis <br />Hillburn <br />Korff <br />Tuttle <br />Nayes; None <br /> <br />Whereupon the Mayor declared the ordinance passed, approved, and adopted. <br /> <br />Fred B. Morgan expressed his congratulations to the newly elected City <br />officials and pledged his support of the City's administration. <br /> <br />City Manager Fuller called to the Council's attention the public hearing <br />on the proposed 1959-60 Budget scheduled for 2100 P.M. on April 8, and requested I <br />that the Council members be present to answer any questions posed by interested <br />citizens. <br /> <br />City Manager fuller reported that John L. Surber of San Antonio, certified <br />public accountant who has conducted the examination of the City's books for <br />several years, has submitted a quotation of $850.00 for the audit of the <br />City's books for this past fiscal year. A motion was made by Alderman Beecroft <br />and seconded by Alderman Davis that John L. Surber Company be authorized to <br />audit the City books at a fee of $850.00. The motion was passed by a unanimous <br />vote of the Council. <br /> <br />There are two small portions of the improvements to the sewage disposal <br />plant and to the lift station which will require bids and for which quotations <br />have not been ~equested. The first is boring under the railroad where the <br />fOrce main crosses a railroad tracks. The second is a cast iron manifold <br />piping for connecting the new pumps in the lift station with the force main. <br />It was moved by Alderman Korff and seconded by Alderman Davis that City Manager <br />Fuller be authorized to prepare the specifications and ask for bids on these <br />two items. The motion was passed by a unanimous vote of the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Allen expressed the appreciation of the City Council members and <br />of the citizens of San Marcos to H. W. Steakley for his past service as <br />Alderman of the City. <br /> <br />There being no further business, upon motion made and seconded, the <br />meeting was adjourned to reconvene at 2100 P.M., April 8, 1959. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />
