After some discussion
Alderman Korff made a motion, seconded by Alderman Hillburn, that it appeared
to the best interest of the City to ask Berretta-Greenslade & Associates to begin
the preliminary engineering work on a bridge to cross the San Marcos River at
Hopkins Street for the submitted fee of $500. The motion was passed by a unanimous
vote of the Council.

City Manager Fuller reported to the Council that Bonds IS - 21 inclusive of
the :-Jighway "81" Fund, held in escrow for the City by the Frost National Bank,
will be due 6-l-S9. Since the City owns these bonds it was requested that a I
Resolution be passed calcelling the bonds on their due date. Alderman Tuttle
introduced a Resolution, which was seconded by Alderman Beecroft, that the City
cancel Bonds IS - 21 inclusive of the Highway "81" Fund. The ayes and nayes
were as follows:

Ayes: Beecroft
Davis
Hillhurn
Korff
Tuttle
Nayes; None

Whereupon Mayor Allen declared the Resolution passed and approved.

City Manager Fuller reported that the City had two small inactive accounts,
one being a.balance of $22.79 in the Fire Station Fund, and one of $931.35 in
the Utility Special Fund. He requested that the Council authorize him to transfer
the balance of the Fire Station Fund to the Sinking Fund for retirement of the
fire station bonds, and to transfer the balance of the Utility Special Fund to the
fund for Sewer Improvements- 1959, WPC-Tex-20. Alderman Hillburn made a motion
seconded by Alderman Korff, that City Manager Fuller be authorized to transfer these
funds as requested. The motion was passed by a unanimous vote of the Council.

City Manager Fuller suggested that the Council consider some type of fire
protection in Precinct #1, outside the City limits. Ii was further suggested
that the type of protection to be offered be a specialized truck, specially
manufactures and equipped for fighting ~rass fire. The City'Manager suggested
various means of financing this service. It was the pleasure of the Council
that he prepare and submit a complete schedule of costs, financing, and method
of providing this service to be considered at the next Council meeting.

I

There being no further business, the Council adjourned upon a motion made
and seconded.

~ ~7-) \ (T~() c /l~

C.
