<br />a <br />Jj f,-;! <br /> <br />ERQ!;;16M6.IIQt:! <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the sale of Buddy Poppies hy the Veterans <br /> <br />of Foreign Wars of the United States is authorized by <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />an act of Congress, and endorsed by the President; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the major portion of funds so raised will <br /> <br />be used in the local community, the remainder being <br /> <br />utilized to help to maintain the Veterans of Foreign Wars <br /> <br />National Home for veterans' orphans and widows at Eaton <br /> <br />Rapid~, Michigan, and to insure the continued highly <br /> <br />efficient functioning of this fine organization's <br /> <br />national rohabilitation and welfare service; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bringing aid to those who have suffered <br /> <br />from war that this nation might live is a most fitting <br /> <br />tribute to those who died for us; <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />No.~, THEReFORE, I, C. M. Allen, Mayor of the <br /> <br />City of San Marcos do hereby authorize and recognize <br /> <br />this noble cause as one most worthy of the support of <br /> <br />all our citizens, and do here and now proclaim May 30th, <br /> <br />1959 as BuDDY POppy PAY in this city, and I call upon <br /> <br />all to wear a Buddy Poppy as evidence of our gratitude <br /> <br />to the men of this nation who helped America when her <br /> <br />need was greatest. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON I have set my hand and caused the seal <br /> <br />of the City to he affixed this the ~ day of May, <br /> <br />1959, A.P. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C.
