AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING AND FIXING THE MAXIMUM SCHEDULES OF RATES TO BE CHARGED BY UNITED GAS CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FOR NATURAL GAS AND NATURAL GAS SERVICE FURNISHED BY IT TO RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL CONSUMERS, CONTAININGDEFI- NITIONS, FIXING THE EFFECTIVE DATES OF GAS RATES PRESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, MAKING MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS AND RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That United Gas Corporation, its successors and assigns, is hereby authorized to place in effect the follOWing schedules of rates within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas (hereinafter called .City.,) for the supply of natural gas and natural gas service: RESIDENTIAL RATES Rate SChedule R-JJ-l, a copy of Which is attached, marked Exhibit ~A', and made a part hereof. COMMERCIAL RATES Rate Schedule SC'-J.3-l, a copy of which is attached, marked EXhibit "Bit, and made a part hereof. The above described schedules of residential rates and of commercial rates, I as adjusted in the manner- t.he2ein provided., are the highest rates that may be charged by United Gas Corporation, its successors and assigns, for residential consumers and commercial consumers within the City. Other lower residential rates and commercial rates may be fixed and determined from time to time by United Gas ~rporation, its successors and assigns, for gas and gas service fur- nished to residential consumers and commercial consumers within the City. SECTION 2. That the 'terms "residential consumer" and itcommercial .consumer" as used herein shall be defined as set out in said Exhibits "An and nB", respectively. SECTION J. That natural gas 8upplied by United Gas Corporation, its successors and assigns, is for the individual use of the consumer at one point of delivery and shall not oe ree,01.d or shared with others. SECTION 4. That the maximum rates and charges prescribed in this ordinance I for residential consumers and commercial consumers shall apply as maximum rates and charges to all gas used by such consumers ~o whom such rates are applicable after their regular meter reading dates commencing on the day next following the effective date of this ordinance, viz, date of passage hereof.
