<br />![)!) <br /> <br />g.s2,Q11!IIQN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the movement of large numbers of people from <br /> <br />rural to urban areas has caused severe added financial respon- <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />sibility upon the urban centers to provide the necessary services <br /> <br />to the expanding City, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, many municipal problems associated with this <br /> <br />population movement has required that there be a complete under- <br /> <br />standing of the needs of the cities by higher echlons of govern- <br /> <br />ment, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, THE City of San Marcos has been most fortunate in <br /> <br />having such a person to whom they could turn and receive an under- <br /> <br />standing and receptive audience. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />San Marcos that the Honorable Max Smith, State Represenative, be <br /> <br />extended the deep and sincere appreciation of the City of San <br /> <br />Marcos for his understanding of the many problems confronting the <br /> <br />cities of Texas and his untiring efforts to promote legislation <br /> <br />to provide refief and aid to the cities in the execution of their <br /> <br />municipal functions. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this the 13th day of October, A.D., 1959. <br /> <br />C~J J\ 'l e <br /> <br />c.
