Alderman Tuttle seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />The matter of a service road in to the rear of the <br />hospital was discussed briefly. Mr. Fuller informed the <br />Council that there are conflicts inasmuch as subdivisions <br />already in existence will have to be altered, abandoned <br />or resubdivided, as well as other complications requiring <br />adjustment. The Council asked the City Manager to contact <br />the County Commissioners Court to determine what is to be <br />needed for the service road. Also contact Mr. Zunker as <br />to what extent he may be able to help furnish what is re- <br />quired for this project. <br /> <br />The City Manager informed the Council that the house <br />on property located on Harvey Street, Part of Lot 6, Block <br />2, Lindsey and Harvey, and for which the City holds cust- <br />todial title, is a fire hazard and a menace to children <br />who play on the property. Alderman Tuttle made the motion <br />that the property be investigated to determine if it con- <br />st,itutes a hazard and a nuisance. Alderman Korff seconded, <br />motion carried. Mayor Allen appointed Walter Buckner as <br />chairman of a committee to investigate this condition with <br />Jack Major and Dr. W. L. Moore to serve on this committee. <br /> <br />Mr. John Clark, Jr., Alamo Sports Car Association, <br />indicated that they plan to hold a sports car racing event <br />at Camp Gary on April 9-10. They have requested that the <br />City provide fire service, police, cle~nup, and mowing a <br />strip along the course. The proceeds from this event will <br />be distributed to United Fund in this area and surrounding <br />areas. The Council was very much in favor of giving <br />assistance to this event. The Council directed the City <br />Manager to investigate the possibility of the mowing and <br />cleanup expense being paid by the sponsor. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that the County had accepted <br />the City's agreement for firefighting services although the <br />manner for payment had not been established. The Council <br />agreed that payment for this service should be made for one <br />year in advance, payable on the date of the contract and <br />for each succeeding year. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that 1~. Irv Peterson had <br />not signed the easement for the sewer line extention to the <br />new county hospital. He recommended that a line be laid <br />across Mr. Cullen Crews' property in place of connecting to <br />the line in the rear of Texanna Motels. This suggestion <br />was unanimously approved by the Council. <br /> <br />The Council was notified of receipt of a letter from <br />Mr. Horace Cape terminating, within 30 days, the lease on <br />property on the San Marcos River below Cheatham Street. <br /> <br />The City Manager suggested that the City negotiate <br />for a tract of approximately 30 acres owned by the Gilcrease <br />Foundation. The Mayor appointed Alderman Tuttle and Korff <br />and City Manager Fuller to investigate and report. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that empfuoyees would attend <br />four short police schools in Austin and a school on main- <br />tenance of traffic signal equipment in Ft. Worth. <br />
