<br />,n'" ,.,. <br />"C,! <br />IfS' <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEET ING HElD ON MARCH 29. 1960 <br /> <br />On the 29th day of March, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M., the Gov- <br />erning Body of the City of San Marcos met in adjourned regular session <br />at the City Hall, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present: Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Aldermen: S. R. Beecroft <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hillburn <br />Herman Korff <br />James Tuttle <br />City Manager B. R. Fuller <br />City Secretary Judy Brackett <br /> <br />The first item on the agenda was the presentation and discussion <br />of the Proposed Budget for 1960-61. City Manager Fuller presented the <br />budget by calling the Council's attention to various sections and answer- <br />ing questions regarding the contents of the budget. After completion of <br />the presentation, on motion made by Alderman Hillburn and seconded by <br />Alderman Beecroft, the budget was placed on first reading and the public <br />hearing waS set for April 12th at 2 o'clock P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. Irv Peterson would like to have some monetary consideration <br />for the City having connected the hospital sewer line to the main sewer. <br />After some discuSsion of the request, no action was taken. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Hays County Industrial Development Foundation has considered <br />sponsoring the building program for a new factory. The factory location <br />is to be off Highway 81 and just north of the new Westwood Corporation <br />bUilding. Mayor Allen aSked for a decision as to what extent the City <br />could supply the 8 inch water line required to meet the needs of the new <br />factory. It was the unanimous deciSion of the Council that the City <br />would install the water line down a city street at any length within <br />reason. <br /> <br />Alderman Tuttle made the motion that the county officials be <br />advised that the City is now prepared to proceed with work on the road <br />to the hospital as soon as they can obtain easements over the properties <br />needed. Alderman Hillburn seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />The Council approved the location of sign "Welcome San Marcos" <br />erected by Student Council at Southwest Texas State College. <br /> <br />The R M 12 Right-of-way Oscar Payne matter was discussed. The <br />court awarded Oscar Payne $1800.00 for damages to his property. The City <br />gave notice of appeal and the Council discussed the advantages to leave <br />the appeal pending. <br /> <br />There being no further business the CounCil, on motion, adjourned <br />at 4:30 P.M. to reconvene at 10:00 o'clock on April 6, 1960. <br /> <br />,Clf/\ fIP_llP" /~ <br /> <br />C.
