IfS' ADJOURNED REGULAR MEET ING HElD ON MARCH 29. 1960 On the 29th day of March, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M., the Gov- erning Body of the City of San Marcos met in adjourned regular session at the City Hall, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding: I Present: Mayor C. M. Allen Aldermen: S. R. Beecroft W. M. Davis B. D. Hillburn Herman Korff James Tuttle City Manager B. R. Fuller City Secretary Judy Brackett The first item on the agenda was the presentation and discussion of the Proposed Budget for 1960-61. City Manager Fuller presented the budget by calling the Council's attention to various sections and answer- ing questions regarding the contents of the budget. After completion of the presentation, on motion made by Alderman Hillburn and seconded by Alderman Beecroft, the budget was placed on first reading and the public hearing waS set for April 12th at 2 o'clock P.M. Mr. Irv Peterson would like to have some monetary consideration for the City having connected the hospital sewer line to the main sewer. After some discuSsion of the request, no action was taken. I Hays County Industrial Development Foundation has considered sponsoring the building program for a new factory. The factory location is to be off Highway 81 and just north of the new Westwood Corporation bUilding. Mayor Allen aSked for a decision as to what extent the City could supply the 8 inch water line required to meet the needs of the new factory. It was the unanimous deciSion of the Council that the City would install the water line down a city street at any length within reason. Alderman Tuttle made the motion that the county officials be advised that the City is now prepared to proceed with work on the road to the hospital as soon as they can obtain easements over the properties needed. Alderman Hillburn seconded, motion carried. The Council approved the location of sign "Welcome San Marcos" erected by Student Council at Southwest Texas State College. The R M 12 Right-of-way Oscar Payne matter was discussed. The court awarded Oscar Payne $1800.00 for damages to his property. The City gave notice of appeal and the Council discussed the advantages to leave the appeal pending.
