<br />~ <br />::::::l <br />~ <br />n <br />tr.l <br /> <br />The city Manager reported on a conference with Mr. Harry <br />Merritt, Area Manager of GSA Building Management Division, and <br />Mr. VanBibber, ldcal custodian of the Federal building, regarding <br />needed drainage improvements to the area. The Council considered <br />several points and authorized the City Manager to take necessary action <br />with the GSA authorities to assure that the deficiencies were corrected. <br /> <br />On the motion of Alderman Korff, seconded by Alderman <br />Hillburn, the City Manager was authorized to purchase two 60-seat port- <br />able bleacher sections at a cost of $275.80 plus delivery costs. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was the decision of the Council that the second phase of <br />airport improvements be completed as rapidly as the work could be schedul- <br />ed. <br /> <br />The Council authorized work of channel improvements to Purgatory <br />Creek as soon as the deeds for the needed right-of-way are delivered <br />to the City. <br /> <br />.'J(2ffYl ~i; <br />A request by Cameron Lumber Co. for a parking :~was denied <br />as this is contrary to the established policy regarding issuance of <br />parking permits. <br /> <br />A request that the Caravanners be given "courtesy" parking <br />during their visit to San Marcos in January 1961 was denied upon <br />recommendation that this type of permit might bring criticism from <br />the rural shoppers in the trade-area. <br /> <br />The matter of additional transportation for the Police <br />Department WaS deferred until the January 1961 meeting. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported on a preliminary sketch of the <br />Holt-Horton Subdivision which had been submitted to him for checking. <br />The Plat, as presented, did not conform to the Sub-division Ordinance <br />and the Council requested that the Plat be resubmitted at the January <br />1961 meeting with corrections. The residents in the Greendale area, <br />who had objected to the subdivision, are to be notified that the <br />matter will be considered at the January meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager was authorized to work with Mr. Hugh <br />Dickson in an attempt to get a settlement on his engineering contract <br />for work on the sewage lift station and force main. <br /> <br />After a discussion, the Council appointed Mr. Dare Williams <br />election Judge and declared that only one box, at City Hall, would <br />be open for voting ae the January 17, 1961 election. <br /> <br />There being no further business the meeting, on motion, <br />adjourned at 3:10 P.
