This motion was seconded by Alderman Korff and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that it was customary to have three <br />members of the Council who were authorized to countersign checks. One <br />of the members, so authorized, was no longer on the Council. Alderman <br />Sutton made a motion that Alderman Younger be designated as authorized <br />to countersign checks. This motion was seconded by Alderman Korff and <br />carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Garland Stokes appeared before the Council and asked for <br />a report on the status of Camp Gary and whether the City intended to <br />try and recover the properties for the benefit of the City and its <br />citizens. Mr. Stokes asked that a committee be formed to work toward <br />acquiring the land and improvements and to take the initiative in <br />acquiring this property for the benefit of the citizens of San Marcos. <br />Alderman Hillhurn moved that a committee consisting of Mayor Allen, <br />Frank Brown, Ernest Morgan, Bob Thornton, Garland Stokes and Albert <br />Walker be appointed to investigate the status of Camp Gary and report <br />to the Council. Alderman Korff seconded the motion Which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />There being no further business the Council, on motion, <br />adjourned at 5;00 o'clock to reconvene at 2;00 o'clock in the after- <br />noon of April 25th. <br /> <br />(Sj,C1/)\ ~ <br /> <br />C.
