Alderman Hillburn moved that
Mr. Terry's contract be renewed. Alderman Sutton seconded, motion
carried unanimously.

Consideration on the recommendation for perpetual care at
the cemetery was discussed with no action taken.

I

Alderman Sutton asked for suggestions regarding a "curfew
law" for teenagers. A discussion "for" and "against" the curfew law,
with Alderman Sutton stating his fear for the future moral status of
our present freshman high school class, resulted in the Council's
decision to not take such a drastic action at this time. Mayor Allen
suggested that Mr. Sutton contact the PTA and other parents' organi-
zations for recommendations.

City Manager Fuller advised the Council that films are
available, for showing on municipal subjects, upon request. The
Council whole-heartedly agreed to take advantage of this offer and
asked that Mr. Fuller select the film to be shown at each future
meeting.

There being no further business, the Council, on motion,
went into executive session at 3:45 P.M.

Se,=
col!t<..eciiol'f,S
o rf 1eJ,"DW
pA'fe ...,tf
~ /1/

The item of consideration in executive session was the 1961-62
Proposed Budget. It was the opinion of Aldermen Ruiz, Sutton and
Younger that the salary of the City Manager should be reduced and that
none of the recommended salary increases, neither meritorius or reg-
ular annual increases, be allowed. There was considerable discussion
and explanations regarding the Budget. It was the final decision that
salaries remain at the March 31st level, until a later date when they
would be reconsidered.

I

There being no further business, the Council, on motion,
adjourned at 5:10 P.M.

(\)~JJ \ OJj~-)

C.
