<br />j- 5 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THE RECORDER OF THE <br />CORPORATION COURT; SETTING THE TERM OF OFFICE; <br />AND, FIXING THE COMPENSATION <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos operates under the General <br />Laws of the State of Texas and has heretofore, under the provisions <br />of Article 1l97A of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, provided <br />by ordinance for the appointment and qualifications of the recorder <br />of the corporation court in this City; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council on April 8, 1959, appointed <br />James S. Burwell to the office of Recorder of the Corporation Court <br />for a term of two years, commencing on April 8, 1959 and terminating <br />on April 5, 1961, or until his successor shall have duly qualified; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the appointment of the said James S. Burwell has <br /> <br />expired. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOSs <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Edward O. Wiley, Jr., a citizen of San Marcos <br />in Hays County, Texas, shall be and is hereby appointed to <br />the office of Recorder of the Corporation Court of this <br />City. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The term of office of the said Edward O. <br />Wiley, Jr. shall commence on April 25, 1961 and shall <br />terminate on April 3, 1963. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 3. In the event a successor to the said Edward <br />O. Wiley, Jr. shall not have qualified on or prior to <br />April 3, 1963, then the said Edward O. Wiley, Jr. shall <br />serve in such office until a successor shall have been <br />appointed and qualified. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. The compensation of the said Edward O. Wiley, Jr. <br />shall be fixed from time to time by the City Manager or by <br />the Governing Body. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in effect on and after <br />April 25, 1961. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 25th day of April, <br />A.
