<br />o <br />rfj <br />t.::::i <br />::= <br />Q" <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I would like for the council to define the duties of the <br />c'.1 ty nane.ger if this has not been done in the past. <br /> <br />I would like to suggest that the City Manager be responsible <br />for the the hiring and firing of all city employel'ts, keeping <br />in mind of cOUrse the wishes of his dJl~artment heads. <br /> <br />I would like to state as one councilmanand-~DHld like for <br />the rest of' the council to acree, that the city manager should I <br />require and exp:ect the full cooperation, and loyalty of' every <br />city employee, and that the city manager should instrunt all <br />city enplo:;',~es in writing that theM loyalty and Qooperation <br />is expected, and that failure to give the1r loyal~y, by <br />sp:eeading rumors, and knocking their d~partment heads or the <br />city man~ger shall be cause for discharge. <br />If this is the will of the councful, I would like to further <br />N~K ~ that the city manager be given a free hand in matters <br />od! personel, and assure the mana.ser that he will have the <br />bacldn::s of the council on an;; action taken to stop the idle <br />and danaging talk by city employees. <br /> <br />I <br />
