I. further understand that at this time <br />a formal petition citing a public neceasi ty has not been <br />filed. <br /> <br />FOr almost twenty years Scotty' s Taxi has served the people <br />of San }~rcos and its sUrrounding communities. During this <br />period. the demand for OUr services has fluc tua tad grea Uy, <br />depending principally on activity at Camp Gary. In that <br />same twenty years several persons have attempted to profitably <br />operate other Taxicab services. All these have fallen by <br />the wayside. <br /> <br />At present we pay the City franchaise tax on five vehicles. <br />However, the demand for Taxicab service 10 San Marcos is so <br />slight that only on Saturday is the fifth cab in operation. <br />If.at any time, the City Councllis of the opinion that <br />addi tional Taxicab service is warranted by demand, Scotty's <br />Taxi is anxious to provide such additional service. <br /> <br />At present, however, we feel that the facts do not warrant <br />OUr adding any additional. vehicles. The further economic <br />waste of duplicated overhead expenses, and the other losses <br />that result from ruinous competition can now be avoided. <br /> <br />It has been a pleasure to serve the City of Ban Marcos and <br />its citizens during the past two decades. We treasure our <br />many friends and always strive to offer the very best ser- <br />vice possible.
