<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1980-37,
<br />ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 8, 1980, WHICH SET FORTH AN
<br />ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING
<br />EACH DEPARTMENT, DIVISION AND OFFICE OF THE MUNIC-
<br />IPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
<br />BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1980 AND ENDING ON SEPTEM-
<br />BER 30, 1981 AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS
<br />FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE TO REVISE SAID
<br />ESTIMATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS ADOPTING
<br />SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES AND DECLARING AN EMER-
<br />GENCY.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />after notice and public hearing, adopted the budget for said
<br />city for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1980 and ending
<br />September 30, 1981 on September 8, 1980; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said budget set forth itemized estimates of the
<br />expense of conducting the San Marcos municipal government for
<br />said fiscal year and appropriated money for the various funds
<br />and purposes of such estimate; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said budget was amended by ordinance duly enacted
<br />on March, 23, 1981; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8.16 of the City Charter
<br />of the City of San Marcos, Texas, said City Council declares that
<br />a public necessity exists which requires amendment of said budget;
<br />now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That Ordinance 1980-37, adopted September 8,
<br />1980, which adopted the City of San Marcos, Texas, budget for the
<br />fiscal year beginning October 1, 1980, and ending September 30,
<br />1981, be, and the same is hereby, amended as set forth in Exhibit
<br />A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, in words and
<br />figures as shown therein, for all intents and purposes.
<br />
<br />SECTION 2. That the amended budget for the City of San
<br />Marcos, Texas, for said fiscal year, be, and the same is hereby
<br />approved and adopted in all respects.
<br />
<br />SECTION 3. That the importance of this Ordinance creates
<br />an emergency and an imperative purpose necessary that the pro-
<br />visions of the charter requiring that ordinances shall be read
<br />at three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become
<br />effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the
<br />date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions are
<br />hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be
<br />in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publica-
<br />tion in a newspaper of general circulation within the City.

<br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 11th day of May
<br />19 81 .
