<br />I. - <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />o <br />r.n <br />t::::l <br />= <br />Q" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, deems it to <br /> <br />be desirable that said City avail itself of the provisions of said Urban <br /> <br />Renewal Law, including the provisions thereof pertaining to an urban renewal <br /> <br />agency created in said City by said Law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intent of the City Council, on the date <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />and at the time and place specified in the form of notice contained in Section <br /> <br />1 hereof, to hold a public hearing on the question of, and to consider and <br /> <br />determine, whether or not it will order an election to determine if it should <br /> <br />adopt a resolution substantially in the form set forth in said form of notice: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Cny COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> <br />MARCOS, TEX!S, as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause <br /> <br />to be published in the June 14, 1962, and the June 21, 1962, editions of the <br /> <br />S~n Marcos RECORD ( the official newspaper of the City of San Marcos) the <br /> <br />following notice: <br /> <br />"NOTICE OF MEETING OF AND PUBLIC HEAR!NG <br />BY CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS CONCERNING CERTAIN PROPOSED ACTIONS <br />UNDER THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW OF TEXAS <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"Pursuant to the provisionse,of the 'Urban Renewal Law' <br />of the State of Texas, notice is hereby ;iven that the <br />City Council ofcthe City of San Marcos, Texas, will <br />meet in the Council Room, City Hall, in said City, on <br />the 14th day of August, 1962, at 7.30 o~:clock P.M., <br />C.S.T.. at which time and place said Council will conduct <br />a public hearing on the question of, and will consider <br />and determine, whether or not it will order an election <br />by the qualified voters reSiding in said City, owning <br />taxable property within the boundaries thereof, who <br />have duly rendered the same for taxation, to determine <br />if the City Council should adopt a resolution substan- <br />tially as follows: <br /> <br />'RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS, <br />'.DETERMINATIONS, AND ELECTrONS UNDER <br />AND PURSUANT TO THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW <br />OF TEXAS <br /> <br />'BE IT RESOLVED FlY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, as follows. <br /> <br />'Section 1. It is hereby found and determined <br />that one or more slum or blighted areas exist <br />in the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />'Section 2. It is hereby further found and deter- <br />mined that the rehabilitation, conservation, or <br />slum clearance and redevelopment, or a combination <br />thereof, of such slum or blighted area or areas, <br />is necessary in the interest of public health, <br />safety, morals or welfare of the residents of said <br />City. <br /> <br />\': <br />
