I. - ~ o r.n t::::l = Q" WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, deems it to be desirable that said City avail itself of the provisions of said Urban Renewal Law, including the provisions thereof pertaining to an urban renewal agency created in said City by said Law; and WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intent of the City Council, on the date I and at the time and place specified in the form of notice contained in Section 1 hereof, to hold a public hearing on the question of, and to consider and determine, whether or not it will order an election to determine if it should adopt a resolution substantially in the form set forth in said form of notice: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Cny COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEX!S, as follows: Section 1. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause to be published in the June 14, 1962, and the June 21, 1962, editions of the S~n Marcos RECORD ( the official newspaper of the City of San Marcos) the following notice: "NOTICE OF MEETING OF AND PUBLIC HEAR!NG BY CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CONCERNING CERTAIN PROPOSED ACTIONS UNDER THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW OF TEXAS I "Pursuant to the provisionse,of the 'Urban Renewal Law' of the State of Texas, notice is hereby ;iven that the City Council ofcthe City of San Marcos, Texas, will meet in the Council Room, City Hall, in said City, on the 14th day of August, 1962, at 7.30 o~:clock P.M., C.S.T.. at which time and place said Council will conduct a public hearing on the question of, and will consider and determine, whether or not it will order an election by the qualified voters reSiding in said City, owning taxable property within the boundaries thereof, who have duly rendered the same for taxation, to determine if the City Council should adopt a resolution substan- tially as follows: 'RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS, '.DETERMINATIONS, AND ELECTrONS UNDER AND PURSUANT TO THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW OF TEXAS 'BE IT RESOLVED FlY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, as follows. 'Section 1. It is hereby found and determined that one or more slum or blighted areas exist in the City of San Marcos. I 'Section 2. It is hereby further found and deter- mined that the rehabilitation, conservation, or slum clearance and redevelopment, or a combination thereof, of such slum or blighted area or areas, is necessary in the interest of public health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of said City. \':
