<br />r~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />l <br /> <br />Regular Meeting August 14,1962, page 2 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION IN <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, PURSUANT TO <br />SECTIONS OF 5 AND 16(a) OF THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW <br />OF TEXASjPROVIDING FOR THE FORM OF THE OFFICIAL <br />BALLOT; ESTABLISHING THE POLLING PLACES; NAMING <br />THE ELECTION OFFICIALS; AND PROVIDING A SAVING <br />CLAUSE. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYES, MOORE, RUIZ, STOKES, SWIFT AND YOUNGER <br />NAYS, NONE <br /> <br />Whereupon the Mayor declared the Ordinance PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPfED. <br /> <br />The City Manager discussed informal bids for a new 1000 gpm pump <br />required by the Water Department as a result of the dil10light. <br />" Alderman Younge!'moved that the low bid by Fairbanks-Morse be accepted. <br />The mttion, seconded by Alderman Ruiz, passed unanimously, and the <br />City Manager was directed to purchase the pump. <br /> <br />The City Manager announced that the City Recreation Program would <br />close fortne Summer on August 19th. <br /> <br />The matter of working out a cooperative agreement with the Commissioners <br />\ Court of Hays County to handle City prisoners was discussed. The <br />City Manager reported that he had talked with the County Judge and that <br />a commitment in writing was due to be prepared Monday, August 20th, by <br />the County Attorney and the City Attorney. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that the inspection had been made on the new <br />Lift Station on August 9th. He requested that the Council give him <br />authority,to accept the Lift Station for the City upon the contractors' <br />full compliance with the plan and specifications. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved that the City Manager accept the Lift Station <br />when final completion is made by the contractors.
