<br />, ,~ <br /> <br />~1 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, HEID ON THE 20th DAY OF SEPTEMBii!R, 1962 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On the 20th day of September 1962, the GOlrerningBoc;ly of the City of <br />San "Marcos, Texas, met in ac;ljourned regular session at the Rio Vista Restaurant <br />in the City of San Marcos, Texas,at 12;00 noon, Mayor C.M. Allen presiding. <br />The following were present: <br /> <br />Pre sent <br /> <br />Mayor <br />Alderman <br /> <br />C.M. Allen <br />Wm. t. Moore <br />Ruben Ruiz <br />H. Garland Stokes <br />Lee Swift <br />J. E. Younger, Jr. <br /> <br />Absent <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Guests <br /> <br />Arthur Fehr <br />Charles Granger <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor and, in the absence of <br />the Secretary, it was the pleasure of the Council that Alderman Stokes act as <br />temporary secretary and record the actions of the Council. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved that the restrictive covenants imposed by the <br />Council in the Annexation Ordinance, annexing certain open lands adjacent to <br />the Highland Terrace Addn. which had been requested to be annexed by Mr. <br />James Tuttle and Dr. Nilon Tallant, be removed from the Ordinance. The <br />motion was seconded by Alderman Younger and upon roll call the ayes and <br />nays were: <br />Aye <br />Nays <br />Whereupon <br />ance were <br /> <br />Moore, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift, and Younger <br />None <br />Mayor Allen <br />removed. <br /> <br />declared the restrictive covenants imposed in the Ordin- <br /> <br />Alderman Stokes presented a preliminary plat of Highland Terrace, Revision <br />No. I, for consideration by the Council. After a careful study of the plat, <br />the Council on motion of Alderman Stokes, seconded by Alderman Younger, gave <br />preliminary approval to the plat as presented conditioned upon the subdivider <br />giving the City a satisfactory performance bond for faithful compliance with <br />the Subdivision Ordinance. This met with the unaminous approval of the Council. <br /> <br />,." <br /> <br />The Council discussed matters related to the planning of the City's <br />development plan with Mr. Charles Granger. A general duscussion ensued with <br />Mr. Granger giving the Council some of his views on the project. Alderman <br />Ruiz moved that Mr. Granger be given a letter of intent to employ him as <br />Planner for the Local Urban Renewal Agency, subject to acceptance by the <br />Local Board. Nothing in the letter was to be contrued as obligating the City <br />in any way for any fees or remuneration of any nature until such time as the <br />Local Urban Renewal Agency could legally enter into a contract with Mr. Granger <br />for definate work. The motion was seconded by Alderman Younger and received <br />the unaminous vote of the Council. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Preliminary Report of the Board of the city of San Marcos for the tax <br />year 1962 was reviewed by the Council. It showed an increase of $1,298,506.00, ' <br />subject to final auditing. The council unaminously accepted the Report, subject <br />to verfication and directed the Tax AsSesor to begin sending out tax statements. <br /> <br />~ <br />
