Alderman Rub seconded <br />the RlOve for adllption. on roll call, the following vote was recorded. <br /> <br />A,YE.Mollre, Rub, StOkes, Swift and Younger <br />NAY. None <br /> <br />Whereupon, Mayor Allen declared tl'le Ordinance PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPl'ED. <br /> <br />Aldermen Stokes and SWift reported on the Annual COnvention of the Texas <br />Municipal League which they attended in Fort Worth, OCtober 7-$, 1962. <br />They talked with representatives of two different firins which specialize <br />in cOdifyingoldinances for municipalities. The need for, such service for <br />~ the City of San Marcos was discussed thoroughly by the Council and City <br />Manager. Alderman Stokes moved that, the City Manager be instructed to <br />contact codifyersand ask for a proposal for codifying the ordinances of <br />the. City of San Marcos. Alderman Swift seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanillOusly. <br /> <br />The Reverend Maynard L. RiCh, pastor of the Campus COllIIIunity of swrsc, I <br />appeared'aefore the Council to extend in person an invitation to a <br />luncheon October 30 to hear a guest lecturer, Dr. Franklin Bittell, <br />professor'of Church History at Chicago TheOlogical Seminary..Title of <br />Dr. Littell's lecture is -Law, Politics and Christian Ethics.. Mayor Allen <br />thanked the Reverend Mr. Rich for the invitation. The City Manager offered <br />to contact Council members several days in advance of the luncheon, for <br />reservations. <br /> <br />Under -City Manager IteDls", the following business was dispatched I <br /> <br />Bids on purchase of a RlOtor vehicle were submitted to the Council. <br />Alde:rmanStokes RlOved that Younger Motor Company, low bidder,be awarded <br />the bid. Alde1'lllanSwi ft seconded the RlOtion. On. roll call. the following <br />vote Ifas recolded, <br /> <br />AYE. Ruh, Stokes. SWift <br />NAYt Moo.re <br />ABSTAINING. Younger. <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the IIlOtion carried and the bid awarded to Younger <br />Motor Company. <br /> <br />Bids on pureh.;lSj! pf,ditching equipment were sublllitted to the Council. <br />Alderman SWiJt,lIlOv~ that Hays County Equipment Company, low. bidder, <br />bealfarded the bid, and the City Manager authorized to make the purchase. <br />Aldeman Ruh seconded the motion. which carried unanilllOusly. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br />
