<br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE MEAT
<br />INSPECTION LAW AND FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE RULES AND
<br />REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR THE INSPECTION OF MEAT,
<br />MEAT PRODUCTS AND MEAT FOOD PRODUCTS PROMULGATED BY THE
<br />COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AS APPROVED
<br />BY THE STATE BOARD OF HEALTH OF THE STATE OF TEXAS TO
<br />ENABLE ANY ESTABLISHMENT IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS
<br />IN WHICH MEAT, MEAT PRODUCTS, AND MEAT FOOD PRODUCTS ARE
<br />PREPARED OR PROCESSED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPT'!ON UPON MEET ING
<br />SUCH STANDARDS ON MEAT AND MEAT FOOD PRODUCTS PREPARED OR
<br />PROCESSED BY SUCH EST ABLISHMENT ; NAMING IN SPECT ION SERV-:,
<br />ICES WHICH CCl'JFORM TO REGULATIONS PROMULGAT ED BY THE
<br />COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH AND ACCEPTABLE IN STATE APPROVED
<br />ESTABLISHMENTS; AND PROVmING AN EFFECTTIlE DATE
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE MEAT
<br />INSPECTICN LAW AS PROVIDED ill SECTION 12 OF ARTICLE 4476-3 OF
<br />VERNON'S TEXAS CIVIL STATUTES FOR THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS,
<br />AND THE ADOPT ION OF RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE COMMTSSIONER
<br />OF HEALTH AS APPROVED BY THE STATE BOARD OF HEALTH.

<br />The rules and regulations and standards for the inspection of meat,
<br />meat products, and meat food products, promulgated by the Commissioner
<br />of Health of the State of Texas, under authority of Article 4418d,
<br />Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, as approved by the State Board of
<br />Health, State of Texas, as authorized by Article 4476-3, Vernon's
<br />Annotated Civil Statutes, dated April, 1959, as amended by amendments
<br />dated December 14, 1959, and all future amendments made thereto, are
<br />hereby in all things adopted and made a part of this as if set forth
<br />in full herein, and all the provisions, standards, rules and regulations
<br />contained therein are made mandatory requirements for the inspection
<br />and labelling of meat and meat food products produced, sold or offered
<br />for sale within the limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas with the
<br />"Texas State Approved Meat for Human Food" label thereon. Any estab-
<br />lishmentdesiring to sell or offer for sale meat, meat products and
<br />meat food products shall be governed by the specifications and regu-
<br />lations promulgated by the Commissioner of Health as approved by the
<br />State Board of Health adopted herein, and all requirements specified
<br />therein shall be complied with.

<br />SECTION 2. 8nly meats bearing the inspection mark, stamp, tag, or
<br />label of the United States Department of Agriculture, the Texas
<br />Department of Health, any Municipality bearing Texas State Approved
<br />legend, or the City of San Marcos, Texas shall be acceptable for sale
<br />in the City of San Marcos, Texas.
<br />
<br />SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
<br />passage and legal pub~ication.
<br />
<br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOITED this 28th day of May, A.D., 1963.
