<br /> <br />., <br />('} 7-- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Highway Department constructed a portion of Interstate 35 <br /> <br />from the Coma I-Hays County line to Broadway Street within the City of San Marcos, <br /> <br />Texas, under Federal Aid Project 1-35-3(2) 199 in accordance with plans approved <br /> <br />January 23, 1957; and, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there was included in said project an exit ramp from the South <br /> <br />bound expressway to the access road at Station 988+00 (approximately); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this project was approved ond accepted by the Highway Department <br /> <br />and was acceptable to the citizens of San Marcos; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal Aid Project 1-35-3(35)204 was approved in September of 1961, <br /> <br />for the completion of the construction of Interstate 35 from a point one mile South of <br /> <br />the Blanco River to Broadway Street in the City of San Marcos; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Morcos and its citizens have been notified that <br /> <br />the exit ramp completed in the first proiect at Station 988+00 (appl'Oximately) is <br /> <br />to be removed. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing 80dy of the City of <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />San Marcos that the State Highway Department is urgently requested to re-cOnsider <br /> <br />the removal of the Exit Ramp at Station 988+00 as it is not a portion of the project <br /> <br />under construction at the present time, and it services an area which is under rapid <br /> <br />development, the City Airport, and a connection into the South end of the City of <br /> <br />San Marcos. Its removal would cause serious inconvenience to many citizens and <br /> <br />hinder the development of the City. <br /> <br />8E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State Highway Commission is earnestly <br /> <br />requested to leave both the Exit Ramps at Stotion 945+50 and at Station 988+00 as <br /> <br />they presently exist, as these exits are necessary to serve the area contiguous to <br /> <br />the access road and it is in the best interests of the City of San Marcos, Hays <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />County, and the State of Texos to develop property adjacent to the access roads <br /> <br />and this is in accordance with the Governor's;5.tate-wide program. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this the ~day of June, A.D., 1963. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(m~ <br />
