<br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY
<br />ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS, INTO SAID CITY LIMITS OF SAN
<br />MARCOS.

<br />WHEREAS, the owners of a strip of land, said strip of land
<br />not exceeding one-half 0/2) mile in width, being contiguous and
<br />adjacent to the present residents, qualified to vote for members of the
<br />State Legislature, have petitioned the City of San Marcos to annex
<br />said strip within its municipal limits, a copy of said petition being
<br />hereto attached and marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all
<br />pertinent purposes; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San
<br />Marcos to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits;
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, that the said strip of land, hereinafter
<br />described by metes and bounds, be and the same is hereby received
<br />as a part of the City of San Marcos, and the corporate limits of the
<br />City of San Marcos are hereby extended so as to include said strip of
<br />land, and from henceforth, the territory as received and annexed shall
<br />be a part of the City of San Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts
<br />and ordinances of said City in accordance with law.

<br />SAID STRIP OF LAND is described by metes and bounds as follows:

<br />BEGINNING at an iron stake in the northeast line of
<br />Chestnut street, set N. 51057' W. 75.5 feet from the
<br />original South corner of the above mentioned Leo E.
<br />Brown 3.12 acre tract, for the West corner of a tract
<br />described in and conveyed by a deed, dated February
<br />9, 1954, now of record in Volume 158, pages 302-03,
<br />Ha ys County Deed Records, wherein Leo E. Brown, et
<br />ux, were grantors and Eugene A. Henk, et UX, were
<br />grantees, and for the South corner of the tract hereby
<br />conveyed; and,
<br />
<br />in a
<br />
<br />THENCE, with the Northeast line of Chestnut Street
<br />in a curve to the right (radius of curve being 860 feet)
<br />Northwesterly direction a distance of 137.4 feet toa
<br />stake; and,
<br />
<br />THENCE, N. 46049' E. 231 feet to a stake at a corner
<br />of a tract heretofore described in and conveyed by a
<br />deed dated August 25, 1955, now of record in Volume
<br />166, Page 80-81, Hays County Deed Reoords, wherein
<br />Leo E. Brown, et ux., were grantors and Cora L.
<br />Beckmann was grantee; and,

<br />THENCE, with the Southwest line of said Beckmann tract,
<br />S. 46033' E. 128 feet to a stake at the North corner of said
<br />Henk tract; and,
<br />
<br />
<br />THENCE, with the Northwest line of said Henk tract, S.
<br />44033' J;:W 233.7 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING contain-
<br />ing 0.711 acres of land, and being that identical property
<br />surveyed on the ground on April 14, 1956, by A.M. Moellering,
<br />Licensed Land Surveyor.
