I AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC UPON PORTIONS OF S TATE HIGHWAY 123 WITHIN ;rIlE. CORPORATE LIMITS OF TIlE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TlIROUGH TIlE ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN MAXIMUM SPEEDS FOR PARTICULAR SECTIONS OF STATE HIGHWAY 123; FIXING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF TIlE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TRXAS : SECTION 1 This Ordinance is and shall be deemed an exercise of the police power of the State of Texas, and of the City of San Marcos, for the public safety, comfort, convenience and protection of the City and citizens of said City, and all of the provisions herein shall be construed for accomplishment of that purpose. SECTION 2 It shall be hereafter unlawful for any person in charge or control of or operating any vehicle to propel or run or drive or operate such vehicle on or upon certain sections of highways within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, at a greater rate of speed than is hereinafter set forth in connection with such sections of said highways: I 1. State Highway 123 a. For South Bound Traffic From Station 7+00 (East Curb Line of East Frontage Road of I.H. 35) to Station 42+00, a distance of 0.712 mile, a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour. From Station 42+00 to Station 50+00, a distance of 0.152 mile, a maximum speed of 50 miles per hour. From Station 50+00 to Station 60+66 (San Marcos South City Limit), a distance of 0.202 mile, a maximum speed of 60 miles per hour. b. For North Bound Traffic From Station 60+66 (San Marcos South City Limit) to Station 50+00, a distance of 0.202 mile, a maximum speed of 60 miles per hour. From Station 50+00 to Station 42+00, a distance of 0.152 mile, a maximum speed of 45 miles per hour.
