<br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY
<br />ADJOINING TIlE CITY LIMITS OF TI-IE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS, INTO SAID CITY or SAN MARCOS.

<br />WHEREAS, the owner of a strip of land, said strip of land not
<br />exceeding one-half 0/2) mile in width, being contiguous ilnd adjacent to the
<br />presect residents, qualified to vote fOI members of the State Legislature, has
<br />petitioned the City of San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its muni-
<br />cipal limits, a copy of si:lid petition being hereto attached, marked Exhibit "A"
<br />and made a part heleof for all pertinent purposes; and,

<br />WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San Marcos
<br />to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits;
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORD'l.INED by the City Council of the
<br />City of San Marcos, Texas, that the said strip of land, hereinafter described
<br />by metes and bounds, be and the same is hereby received as a part of the
<br />City of San Marcos, and the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos are
<br />hereby extended so as to include said strip of land, and from henceforth the
<br />territory so received and annexed shall be a part of the City of San Marcos,
<br />at1d shall be bound by the acts and ordit1ances of said City in accordance with
<br />Jaw.

<br />SAID STRIP OF LAND is described by metes and bounds as follows:
<br />
<br />BEGINNING at an iron pipe in the Southwest line of
<br />Austin Street, set for the east corner of the Leo E.
<br />Brown 3.12 acre tract and for the north corner of a
<br />one-half acre tract, an iron pipe as called for in Vol.
<br />11, Page 201, Private Survey Records of Hays County,
<br />Texas.

<br />THENCE, ,.'ith the southwest line of Austin Street, N 460
<br />33' W 332 feet to an iron pipe set for the north corner of
<br />said 3.12 acre tract, and for the north corner of the tract
<br />of land hereby described; and,
<br />
<br />THENCE, with the northwest line of said 3.12 acre tract,
<br />S 470 04' W 152 feet to an iron pipe; at1d,
<br />
<br />THENCE, S 460 33' E 67.4 feet to an iron pipe; and,
<br />
<br />TflENCE, N 46041' E 40 feet to an iron pipe; and,
<br />
<br />THENCE, S 440 40' E 68. 1 feet to an iron stake; and,
<br />
<br />THENCE, S 450 48' W 58 feet to an iron pipe; and,
<br />
<br />THENCE, S 460 33' E 202.95 feet to an iron pin in the
<br />southeast line of the said Leo E. Brown 3.12 acre tract;
<br />and,

<br />THENCE, with the southeast line of said 3.12 acre tract,
<br />N 440 33' E 172 feet to the PLACE or BEGIN NING, con-
<br />taining 1.2 acre of land.

<br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 23rd day of
