59 <br /> <br /> Special Meeting May 18, 1981 Page 2 <br /> <br />moved to add to the Ordinance Section 2-.28 D setting out the term <br />of the Board Members to be three years and Mr. Kreczmer seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration on second reading an Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />~RCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID <br />CITY TO ADD A SECTION 2-5 TO ESTABLISH A FEE IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST <br />PERSONS SUBMITTING CHECKS TO SAID CITY WHICH ARE RE- <br />TURNED TO SAID CITY BECAUSE OF THE REFUSAL OF THE <br />PAYOR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION TO PAY THE ITEM AS DRAWN <br />AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading and <br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for discussion the possibility of a Museum <br />Building donation. Mrs. Catherine B. Johnson, Acting President <br />of the Texas Museum of History, Inc., indicated that they wanted <br />the old Federal Fish Hatchery building in the event the Biology <br />Department at Southwest Texas State University did abandon the <br />building. She indicated they did have funds to move the building <br />to another site. Motion was made by Mrs. Norris and it was the <br />consensus of Council that on behalf of the Council, Mayor Pro-Tem <br />James write a letter to the Board of Regents requesting the build- <br />ing be donated to the City for use as a museum. <br /> <br />Mr. James announced that the Council would go into Executive Session <br />pursuant to Section 2(g) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil <br />Statutes, to discuss personnel at 9:04 p.m. On motion of Mr. Brown, <br />seconded by Mrs. Norris and unanimously approved by all Council <br />members, the Council did go into Executive Session. At 9:26 p.m. <br />the Council returned to the Council Chambers. Mrs. Norris moved <br />that the meeting be reconvened and Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, <br />Mr. James stated the Council considered a report from the City Man- <br />ager of a preliminary list of people that would be cut without serious <br />detriment to services. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved that the City Manager be instructed to implement <br />the reduction of personnel as discussed in Executive Session and <br />Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:32 p.m. on motion of Mrs. Norris and <br />seconded by Mr. Brown. <br /> <br />Karl ~.
