Therefore, if you believe that said <br />article allows the aldermen to fix their salaries, and <br />if you pass an ordinance so fixing such salaries, said <br />ordinance could be overthrown only by a court of law de- <br />claring that Article 1010 does not authorize such an <br />ordinance.
