AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, INTO SAID CITY OF SAN MARCOS. I WHEREAS, the owner of a strip of land, said strip of land not exceeding one-half (1/2) mile in width, being contiguous and adjacent to the present residents, qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, has petitioned the City of San Marcos to an- nex said strip of land within its municipal limits, a copy of said petition being hereto attached, marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes; and, WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, that the said strip of land, hereinafter described by metes and bounds, be and the same is hereby received as a part of the City of San Marcos, and the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said City in accordance with law. SAID STRIP OF LAND is described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point, which point is the most South- westerly corner of Lot 2 of the San Marcos Heights Addn. and a point in the City Limit Line; and, I THENCE, in a Northwesterly direction along the N. E. City Limit Line to a point at the intersection of the N. E. Line of Chestnut Street and the South Line of Holland Street and is the Northwest corner of Lot 1 in said San Marcos Heights Addn.; and, THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction along the North- west Line of Lot 1, Southeast line of Holland St., a dis- tance of 132.31 feet to a point, said point being the North- east corner of Lot 1 and the Northwest corner of Lot 10 in said San Marcos Heights Addn.; and, THENCE, S 420 14' E a distance of 65.12 feet along the common line between Lots 1 and 10 to a point; and, THENCE, N 450 41" E along the common line between Lots 2 and 10 to a point, which point is the Northeast corner of Lot 2 and the Northwest corner of Lot 9, San Marcos Heights Addn.; and, THENCE, S 420 14' E a distance of 75.0 feet to a point, which point is the Southeast corner of Lot 2 and a point in the Northwest Line of Lot 8 of San Marcos Heights Addn.; and, I THENCE, S 450 44' W 158.47 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 2 being a point in the City Limit Line and the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
