r AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICaPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND TO PROVIDE A SINKING FUND FOR THE RETIREMENT OF THE BONDED DEBT OF SAID CITY BE IT ORDAINED~BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS: I SECTION I. There is hereby levied for the year 1965, upon all property, real, personal and mixed, not exempt from taxation by the constitution and laws of this State, situated within the corporate I imits of said City of San Marcos, Texas, and there shal I be collected, for the use and support of the municipal government of said City of San Marcos, Texas, to provide for permanent improvements in said City, a tax of Two Dollars ($2.00) on each One Hundred Dol Jars of valuation of property as aforesaid; and said tax, so levied and collected, shal I be apportion- ed to the specific purposes hereinafter set forth, to wit: a. For the payment of current expenses and to be deposit~d 'in the General Fund, One Dollar and Sixty-Eight Cents ($1.68) on each One Hundred Dollars of valuation of such property; and, I b. To provide for a Sinking Fund for the payment of the principal and interest and the retire- ment of the bonded debt, as the same shal I be- come due, Thirty-Two Cents ($.32) on each One Hundred Dollars of valuation of such property, or so much more, if any, as sha I I be necessary to pay the principal and interest for the cur- rent year. SECTION 2. There is hereby levied and there shal I be collected from every person, firm, association or cor- poration pursuing any occupation taxed by the General Laws of Texas, an annua I occupat i on tax equa I in each instance of one-half (!) of the State Occupation Tax, which tax shal I be paid annually in advance, except as otherw i se prov i ded by State Law, in wh i ch event such tax shal I be levied, collected and paid as is provid- ed by State Law, the amount thereof not in any event to exceed one-half (!) of the State Occupation Tax, as aforesaid. I SECTION 3. AI I monies anticipated for collection under this ordinance shal I be indicated as revenue and expenditures by the City Manager in the preparation of the annual budget; and the City Treasurer shall keep accurate and complete records of al I monies collected under this ordinance and of the purposes for which the same are expended. t:l U ;.~ Cl:: ~ .,~
