Archie Weatherford, subdivider who had sold the lots to
the property-owners, also spoke in behalf of the petitioners.
It was brought out in the discussion that the property-owners
.had been notified more ~han a year ago that they must comply
with the Health .Ordinance. They had been ~ranted an extra
IS-day notice; had then been tried in Corporation Court; fined
$10.00 and costs; and given 90 days to comply with the Ordinance.
Mr. F I ores, speak i ng for the pet it i oners, sai d they wanted sewer
service, but their more immediate need was to get an extension
of the 90-day notice, since they were. unable to comply with the
law. James Burwell, Sanitary Engineer for the City-County Health
Unit, said the property-owners could comply with the Ordinance
by laying new lateral lines to their septic tanks, but stated
that it would be cheaper in the long run to connect to the sewer,
when avai lable. After a thorough discussion; the Mayor asked
Mr. Fuller to take up the matter with the property-owners and
work out a satisfactory arrangement.

=
U
w
.
