A.T. Harris, pastor of the AME Wesley Chapel, gave <br />the Invocation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Dec. 13, 1965 meet i ng were approved as <br />presented, on motion of Alderman Pool, and second of <br />Alderman Damon. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced Mr. Kenneth Finch of Ernst 5' Ernst, <br />who gave a summarized report on the 5-months audit just <br />completed by his firm. Copies of the Nov. 30, 1965 Audit <br />and the "Audited Financial Statements and Other Financial <br />Information of June 30, 1965" were distributed to members <br />of the Counci I. Copies of both Audits are on file in the <br />City Secretary's office for publ ic inspection. Mr. Finch <br />commented on the improvement in bookkeeping practices dur- <br />ing the past year, and made some minor recommendations. <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized Mr. John Laney, President of Executive <br />Airlines, Inc., of San Antonio, who approached the Council <br />about leasing the faci I ities at Municipal (Gary) Airport. <br />Mr, Laney explained his training program for commercial <br />pi lots, and stated he would require the entire hangar. <br />Alderman Froh suggested that he present his proposal "in a <br />legal manner" to the new City Manager when he assumes his <br />duties, Jan. 15th. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the d i spos; t i on of "the 31 ough Tract", <br />1.3 acres of slough formerly a part of the US Fish Hatchery, <br />acquired from General Services Administration. Alderman <br />Whittenberg reviewed the City's negotiations for the prop- <br />erty, start i ng in Apr ii, 1965, and the Counc ii's intended <br />d i sposa I of it. Mr. Wh i ttenberg moved that the Counc i I se I I <br />the 1.3 acres of slough tract to Aquarena, Inc. for $7,500., <br />the purchase price.
