<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I- <br /> <br />PRO C LAM A T ION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this wi I I be the 16th year of the annual observance <br />of Texas Public Schools Week; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1965 more peop I e than ever before vis i ted in the <br />public schools of Texas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, every Texan has the right and opportunity to attend <br />our Publ ic Schools and to acquire the necessary learning for <br />making an honorable living, as wel I as appreciation and under- <br />standing of the correspondent duties, obligations, and rights <br />of American Citizenship; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the privjlege and duty of every citizen to co- <br />operate with his respective school board members and teachers <br />in a constant effort to improve our schools; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Counci I of San Marcos desires to express its <br />belief that a sound, progressive system of education requires <br />the interest and participation of all our people and the wide- <br />spread public understanding of our schools can best be developed <br />by personal inspections of our schools and observation of the <br />pupi Is and teachers: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ell is Serur, Mayor of the City of San Marcos, <br />proclaim the week of March 7th through 11th, 1966, to be des- <br />ignated as the SIXTEENTH ANNUAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK in San Marcos; <br />and that we urge al I citizens to visit a Public School during this <br />period in order to become personally acquianted with the physical <br />plants and accomplishments of OUr public education program. <br /> <br />_ _~ f/7 ./ <br />--/1 ; - /~ /' <br />// V~~C%!--r--/2/ <br /> <br />Ell is Serur <br />Mayor <br /> <br />r~~TEST : liflr.
