<br />72 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1981-40R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN tffiRCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT RESOLUTION <br />OF JANUARY 12, 1981, WHICH DECLARED THE POLICY <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE PÆAPPOINTMENT OF <br />MEMBERS OF BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES <br />OF SAID CITY TO THE SAME BOARD, COMMISSION OR <br />AUTHORITY, TO EXEMPT THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />FROM THE TERMS OF SAID RESOLUTION AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />on January 12, 1981, declared it to the policy of that body to <br />limit the service of a person on a board, commission or authority <br />of said City to two consecutive terms; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Part 6 of that Resolution exempted the Central <br />Texas Higher Education Authority from the terms of said Resolution; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the nature of the <br />duties of the Board of Equalization makes it desirable that said <br />Board be exempted from the terms of said Resolution of January <br />12, 1981; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the Board of Equalization of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas,be, and it is hereby exempted from the terms of <br />that Resolution adopted January 12, 1981,which declared the policy <br />of the San Marcos City Council for the reappointment of members of <br />boards, commissions and authorities of said City to the same board, <br />commission or authority. <br /> <br />PART 2. That Part 6 of said Resolution of January 12, 1981, <br />be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />That directors of the Central Texas Higher Education <br />Authority and members of the Board of Equalization of <br />the City of San Marcos shall be excluded from the terms <br />of this resolution. <br /> <br />PART 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and <br />effect immediately from and after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 26th day of May, 1981. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Berry R.
