72 RESOLUTION 1981-40R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN tffiRCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT RESOLUTION OF JANUARY 12, 1981, WHICH DECLARED THE POLICY OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE PÆAPPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES OF SAID CITY TO THE SAME BOARD, COMMISSION OR AUTHORITY, TO EXEMPT THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION FROM THE TERMS OF SAID RESOLUTION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, on January 12, 1981, declared it to the policy of that body to limit the service of a person on a board, commission or authority of said City to two consecutive terms; and, WHEREAS, Part 6 of that Resolution exempted the Central Texas Higher Education Authority from the terms of said Resolution; and, WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the nature of the duties of the Board of Equalization makes it desirable that said Board be exempted from the terms of said Resolution of January 12, 1981; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the Board of Equalization of the City of San Marcos, Texas,be, and it is hereby exempted from the terms of that Resolution adopted January 12, 1981,which declared the policy of the San Marcos City Council for the reappointment of members of boards, commissions and authorities of said City to the same board, commission or authority. PART 2. That Part 6 of said Resolution of January 12, 1981, be amended to read as follows: That directors of the Central Texas Higher Education Authority and members of the Board of Equalization of the City of San Marcos shall be excluded from the terms of this resolution. PART 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this 26th day of May, 1981. ~ Berry R. Jame Mayor Pro Tempore Attest: s K.
