Worrell <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Alderman <br /> <br />Herman Korff <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />Mrs. Carolyn Chandler, Mrs. Jerri Veidt <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Serur stated the purpose of the meeting was to appoint <br />a member to the Urban Renewal Agency to fi I J the vacancy <br />created by the resignation of Thomas Colgin. The Mayor asked <br />approval of his appointment of J.W. Hopson to the board. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Damon moved that the Counci I approve the appointment <br />of J.W. Hopson to the Urban Renewal Agency (Local Public Agency). <br />Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion and on rol I cal" the <br />following vote Was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Froh said he felt the Counci lowed the Press a vote <br />of appreciation for its excellent coverage and vigorous support <br />of the bond issue election. The Mayor agreed they had done a <br />"tremendous job", and added that everyone who had assisted in <br />getting "the bond issue message" to the people, and in getting <br />out the vote, had received letters of appreciation. Mr. Serur <br />said he also felt "The People of San Marcos" deserved a vote <br />of thanks for their overwhelming support at the polls. <br /> <br />The Council expressed concern over the illness of Augustin Lucio, jr. <br />who has served on the Urban Renewal Agency since its appointment <br />four years ago. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Counci I directed that a letter of sympathy be sent to Mr. Lucio, <br />and a letter of appreciation to Mr. Colgin for his service on the <br />Urban Renewal Agency. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />./~&", (, ~/~~. <br />Ellis~: <br /> <br />Mayor <br />
