I

February 27, 1967

I

Dear Sirs,
During the early part of January, I made reservations for
the use of the recreation hall for a private birthday party. I
continued with my plans until last Monday, Feb. 20th. when I
called about getting officers to guard the place. I was then told
that I could not have the hall. I was told to find another place
on account of some trouble during a dance that was held in
February. I consider this to be totally unfair for the following
reasons:
1. When the policies for the use of the recreation hall were
changed I was not notified of the change. although the City
Hall had my reservation on record for March 4.
2. If I am not allowed to rent the recreation hall. this
should mean that no other citizen will be allowed to have
private parties there.
3. Thirty-two youngsters and their parents have made ex-
penses in preparation for the debut party. since I did not
know of any pOlicy change.
4. I have already ,pent over $200.00 for my daughter's
debut.
5. Although this is a private party. I wanted to have officers
around so that no unauthorized or uninvited person would
enter the recreation hall.
I hope that you will carefully consider my case and that of
the other citizens of San Marcos. If there has been a policy change,
the whole community should be informed.

I
