Box 725 <br />San ..)11"...., 'Y.;."., 78666 <br /> <br />TEl~PJ.lONI;:, AretJ Code 512 <br />EXport: 2~2417 <br /> <br />March 10, 1967 <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />City of San Marcos <br />San Marcos, Texas <br /> <br />Gentlemen: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On February], 1967, Warren Freudiger, Executive Director of the <br />Housing Authority of the City of San Marcos, appeared before the <br />Planning & Zoning Commission to request that a site in Sunset Acres <br />Subdivision under option by the Housing Authority be rezoned from <br />"Rl" (residential) to "D" {multi-family). <br /> <br />A Public Hearing on the request was held on March 7, 1967, in <br />accordance with the Planning & Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />A petition protesting the change in zoning, signed by more than <br />the required 20% of the property owners within 200 feet of the <br />proposed project, Was received by the Planning & Zoning Commission. <br />At the Hearing, full opportunity Was given to everyone present to <br />express himself. Many persons participated in the discussion. <br /> <br />Following the Hearing, the Planning & Zoning Commission discussed <br />the matter, each member expressing himself for or against the <br />change. The Commission voted 4 to 2 to recommend to the City <br />Council that the Housing Authortiy request be denied, and the <br />zoning of Sunset Acres Subdivision remain zoned "R1". <br /> <br /> <br />J EY / sw <br /> <br />I <br />
